Gotham by Gaslight was an interesting start, I definitely missed Mignola's moodier art but it was decent enough.

Geiger #3. Johns is slowly telling Geiger's story. Most of this issue takes place in a library. I know that sounds boring but for those of us that love to read it's a great setting. Gary Frank continues with some of his best art ever. The rage Geiger feels when he let's loose with his powers? Wow! I highly recommend this book as well as Redcoat . Both are from the Ghost Machine imprint at Image.

G.O.D.S. #8 by Jonathan Hickman, Valerio Schiti and Marte Gracia
What Happened Before: Wynn is a mage working for The Powers that Be, the Principal of Magic. His ex-wife Aiko is a scientist working for its counterpart: The Natural Order of Things, the Principal of Science. Dmitri, Wynn's assistant and envoy from the Natural Order, disappeared searching for his missing parents who were lost outside the known universe. Mia is a mage who was recruited by Aiko to serve the Natural Order, but as a mage this would hamper her natural abilities. To fix her mistake, Aiko made a deal with magical entities that restored Mia's full power, but cost Aiko her eyesight.
Plot: 100 years in the future, Wynn has become disillusioned with his service to the higher Powers and enters an A.I.M. base to use their time travel device. Appearing at various points in his past: the moment he became the Avatar for Magic, his torture at the hands of the In-Betweener and many other places and times to finally end on the day where he and Aiko got married.
Art: We get to see the principles of Magic and Science for the first time. I really like the design for the Powers-that-Be. The Natural Order is pretty boring (but it kinda fits the idea behind it). Writing: It's a really straightforward story and gives backstory to Dimitri and his motivations, but it remains to be seen how this ties into the ongoing story. The main impact on the larger story would be how it changes the relationship between Wynn and Strange, but that is not addressed in this issue.
Overall: The whole series is finished now and it felt very different than what is was advertised as (I know, never trust ads). The whole "this will change the way of Marvel's magic and cosmic landscape" didn't happen at all (I think only Al Ewing has done something with things that were setup in this story), it's actually a very personal story about the love between Wyn and Aiko which is in conflict with their respective duties. Overall I liked the series for what it is. It's not a must-read and it's one of those many Marvel mini-series that just happen outside the big names like Spider-Man, Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men with its own characters.
