It's Top Shelf Friday time!

So show us a comic (or comic-related or comic-tangential item) that you own that you believe should be on the Top Shelf. It can be because you think the comic is important or valuable, because it's a sentimental favorite or one of your favorite stories, because it's signed and holds great memories for you, just has a really cool cover or strikes your fancy or is just plain cool-whatever the reason show us that comic. Any pic of that comic will do, but bonus points if you can show us the actual copy you own.

This week's pick...



The Weird issue (#4) of the DC 100 Page Super Spectacular. It sports a gorgeous Wrightson cover, but the highlight for me was one of the reprints. Ever since I had discovered the Phantom Stranger as part of the Legends mini and Secret Origins #10, I'd been a fan of the character. I started buying up back issues and managed to put together a complete run plus Showcase 80, but I had been looking since the late 80s for even the hint of a copy of one of the 6 issues of the 1950s Phantom Stranger series. Overstreet listed them as scarce, I never saw a sniff of a copy at a show or shop in the pre-internet days, but I discovered that this giant DC issue had a reprint of one of the stories form that series, so it was my first exposure to anything form that initial Phantom Stranger run. I've found a couple other reprints here or there over the years, but I still have never seen an issue in person at a shop or show. Occasionally (very rarely) see one online, but the pricing is beyond what I am comfortable with, so reprints like this may be he only taste I get of that series.
