Just saw a post on Facebook that showed a tattoo of JohnnByrne’s work. It made me wonder what artist’s work would you have tattooed on yourself? I’m not a tattoo person but if I were I think I’d go with George Perez Trigon

My first ever tattoo was Norbert Sykes’ Badger Claw symbol…: I’ve never gotten any other comics related ink. That said, I’ve seen some really good ones homaging popular characters by various artists online and IRL.

ps 8 years in the Navy and at least 20 years of tattoos being mainstream and I have never had a desire to have something permanently etched into my skin. Not condemning anyone else, just never had that desire.

Not condemning anyone else, just never had that desire. Popeye has a tattoo, so it was pretty certain that I would end up with at least one. Except where the sailor man has an anchor, I have Judas Priest's Painkiller cover.

I don't really identify with any comic book iconography enough to want it on my body, but I was impressed when I met a bloke with impeccably rendered Brian Bolland Killing Joke tatts all over his leg. I mentioned Brian Bolland's name, and he gave me a blank look. I mentioned The Killing Joke and got another cold stare. With a peculiar look of contempt he replied "I don't read comic books, mate, I just like Batman is all." 🤣
At least his tattoo artist made a good choice on his behalf I guess.

When I was younger I toyed with getting the Elfquest logo as a tattoo (it's really just a wolf, after all) but I never was willing to spend the money.

I digress from comic books here, but if I ever did get a tattoo (which will not happen), I would want it to be of Tattoo from Fantasy Island.

Ah see, I thought I was being so clever there, but now I've gotta live with a typo. Darn it, edited, and I'm still giving myself a "like".

Actually, let's make lemonade out of this situation. I'll change it to a tattoo of Tattoo from Fantasy Island, but it will say "Love Boat" beneath him. Because what a conversation starter that would be.
