Favourite Batman villain of lesser renown? Here’s a handy list if you really need it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Batman_family_enemies#Other_recurring_enemiesMay I please respectfully ask that we don’t get into discussions as to why certain names have been omitted. That is what the “Other” option is for. I listed some of my favourites, yes, but I tried to think of many, some of whom aren’t my favourites, that haven’t quite reached the iconic status of Joker or Penguin, but have been persistent foes for quite some time. One simply couldn’t list every villain of lesser renown, mainly because I presume ProBoards has a limit on poll options. I’d also like to add that my familiarity with Batman is more Silver Age/Bronze Age, so I don’t specifically know who counts as a a villain of lesser renown from either the Golden Age or the 90s/00s onwards. Of course, please feel free to think of them as “Other”. I know many great Bat-Villains are to be found prior to the Silver Age and post-Crisis. Explain your reasoning if you like. This is an easy poll for me. It has to be this guy, with his great visual look/gimmick:

It seems my destiny in these things to choose "Other." I like a lot of "lesser" villains. I'm not sure that Clayface II is actually lesser than Clayface I...but whatcha gonna do. I suspect my answer is probably Nocturna. I loved that era of Batman/Detective. Now I haven't read those books in eons, so who knows if they'd hold up. But I dug her visually and it was nice to have another female antagonist, particularly one that was kind of night based.

Probably that little turd Gaggy, the Joker's sidekick. Midget villains can be chilling sometimes....

Catman for me as well, no question. I first ran into him with the Doug Moench crossover story in Batman #371 (Don Newton pencils) and Detective #538 (Gene Colan pencils), and he became an instant favorite. He deserved more appearances in the Silver and Bronze ages IMO! I like your overall list too, the Black Spider also brings back a great memory. I "think" this may have been the first Batman comic book I ever got as a kid in 1978, I still remember seeing the cover and thinking before I read it "wait, is that Spider-Man fighting Batman?".

I'm going with the team of Mastermind, The Perfesser, and Mr. Nice, from the comics based on the Batman Adventures animated series.

It was a mistake, but I can find no way to edit poll options.

I'm going with "Other," specifically Val Kaliban a.k.a. The Spook, prison architect turned escape specialist. His duels of wit with Batman in the early '70s were a highlight of that era to a newly teenaged
Cei-U! I summon the green-garbed ghoul!

I went with “other”. Ever since I saw him in the Justice League Justice Society team up in 1981 (complete w. George Perez art) I always thought Signalman was the coolest!!!

Have you ever read Signal-Man’s first appearance? Circa 1960. It’s hilarious. Joe Cobb goes to Gotham City with big dreams of forming his own mob and being a Gotham crime boss. But the native Gotham gangsters are mean to him and make fun of him and won’t join his gang. It’s tough in the big city. So he realizes he’ll have to make a name for himself on his own first. So he designs a costume and decides that symbols will be his crime symbol. Thus is Signal-Man born!

My choice and I had that comic, from a Whitman bag sampler.

If you want to talk the tv series, then it is King Tut, all the way! Loved Victor Buono and he had just the right amount of ham to make it fun. he also was the only lively part of The Man From Atlantis tv series, when they would bring him back, after the pilot film.
