This week's contest is something I've been thinking of for a bit, but had to make sure it wasn't one that we've used. 12 Items Or Less. Post a comic from your favorite short lived monthly series that didn't go a full year. NO MINI-SERIES. No MAXI-SERIES. It has to be a cover that was solicited as a monthly (or bi-monthly), not a limited series or anything as such. My cover is from the comic series YEAH!, which went only 9 issues. And now, The Rules - Post one, and only one, classic cover that fits the theme of the contest. - The cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume published before September 2014. - Please include the title and issue number of your choice for the benefit of anyone who can't see your cover. - Covers must be posted before voting begins. That would be on Tuesday, October 15, beginning at 12:01 am PST and ending at 11:59 pm PST. - Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme (or that you just like the best) in bold. - The winner of the contest is the poster with the most votes after the voting period ends. Duh. - The winner chooses the theme for the next week's contest. - If you don't think a particular cover fits the theme, just don't vote for it. No need to post disparaging remarks about it. But if a cover is more recent than the classic time frame, politely point that out to the poster, who may choose to replace it. Hope you have fun!

I saw subscription ads for Battlemania, so it was planned as an ongoing, but it lasted only five issues. Here’s the first issue from 1991:

Yeah, the bi-monthly conundrum gave me pause for a second as well. Anyway, going to go with one of my favorite of the many '70s series that got the ax: Ragman #2 (DC, 1976)
