So this certainly goes beyond just a Mego line in the collectibles aisle, and while it is a niche line in the past, it's getting a decent marketing push. I'm not sure how many people will buy the new Atlas Comics, but being sold in Walmart will certainly put more eyes on it than any new issue of Marvel or DC sold in a comic shop and eyes on them in places where no comic shops exist.
It's certainly an ambitious launch. I'm skeptical how successful it will be, but I am willing to reserve judgment until it plays out.
And as the article opens with the idea of: “Why don’t they sell comics in Walmart? That would save comics.” is something you often hear bandied about in the comics hot stove league".
has been quite the common refrain among the community of comic fans when discussing the future of comics and the problems facing the industry in terms of a shrinking customer base and accessibility of comics for discovery by new readers and potential growth of new readers, so I am glad to see someone trying it on a scale like this. Again, while I am skeptical, I really am wishing that this is a big success and it puts lots of eyes and hands on comics and Megos that might not otherwise have ever considered buying them.

Don't think that would be possible, in actuality, as Vicki was a licensed reprint of Tippy, from Tower Comics, with the name changed to seem like new material. Not sure who owns the rights to that, as I believe Jon Carbonaro only bought the THUNDER Agents rights, from Tower and not Undersea Agent, Fight The Enemy or Tippy. Might be a character they could use if it has fallen into the public domain. I assume they don't have clear title on The Scorpion or Destructor, as they never seem to come up.

Which is the one I'm actually interested in. But the real Scorpion, not that abomination in issue #3. I did also like the Grim Ghost...though a lot of that was probably Ernie Colon's art.

Grim Ghost was probably the best of their derivative material. The Scorpion was my favorite; and, for my money, the best executed project (first issue, at least, the second suffers from Chaykin having to cede some work for deadline). I liked the premise of The Phoneix but Rovin's writing was rather overwrought. I actually saw the revamp issue #4 first, and liked it well enough, though reading it again, in college, after finding it, it was just pure ripoff. Targitt was okay, for what it was and Moorlock 2001 was an interesting idea. The war comics were decent and I liked Iron Jaw and Wulf the Barbarian. I eventually got digital of everything (even Gothic Romances) and they did a nice feature on TE Lawrence, in their Thrilling Adventure magazine. Destructor was actually one of the Ditko features I thought was pretty good, as I am not a fan of a lot of his post-Spiderman comics, with a few exceptions, here and there.
