Thought some here might find this interesting and a topic for discussion.

One of the larger points that I took away from the article was "gatekeeping", which is a horrible practice that I myself was subjected to when I first got into comics at 8 or 9. Everybody should be allowed to enjoy things and just revel in the joy that it brings them. There's far too much hate and anger in the world to bring it into hobbies

Alan Moore talking a fair bit of sense, as usual. My only criticism of his article would be that I wish it were longer.

Hardly surprising who he's harping on...
...yeah, whatever. The fanboys will eat it up with a spoon.

Mmmmh... How many middle-aged white male conservatives actually read comics nowadays?

Hardly surprising who he's harping on... Mmmmh... How many middle-aged white male conservatives actually read comics nowadays? That's practically irrelevant. Not reading/viewing the media in question has never stopped perpetual victims from claiming victimization. Plus, Moore specifically referenced Comicsgate, which I don't think anyone is going to argue against lining up pretty well with that demographic. Or maybe you can. I wouldn't mind being corrected if I'm wrong. (I probably need to clarify - I'm not saying every member of the demographic under discussion is a perpetual victim, I'm just saying people routinely jump on these dogpiles without knowing the first thing about the issue. There's a great example from earlier this year about a comics pro who punked himself ranting about a "woke" comic he obviously doesn't read)

It's just that different demographics tend to complain about different things.

To be clear - I wasn't saying that. I'm not sure if you're implying that I was. Right you are. To bring it back to Moore's point - Comicsgate was one example of (mostly) a certain group complaining about the types of things that group tends to complain about.
