Husband found these really cheap, but honestly, who the hell ships comics without bags and boards? And these are his. He collects Detective and Batman. I just like the covers. That's particularly cool that he also collects comics. My wife has only had occasional interest in reading my comics. She read Daredevil for a while years ago, and both she and my daughter read Sojourn. Sometimes I was third in line to read that comic.

He was the one who originally suggested comics to me, but he never really got into reading them. But what I am glad about is, he collects runs that I'm not currently trying to collect, and he also finds the things I want to collect, and he wins them for me. He brings his Kindle to work and reads golden age Detective Comics during his down time.

... Star Boy can't help it if he has a dumb costume and stupid powers. LOL! While I admit Thom's Silver Age costume is not as sartorially stelliferous as the later black-n-white bodysuit, I never minded his original look. The purple goes well with the yellow and white accents, IMHO. No comment on the crew-cut though.

So, I like it, too!

Husband found these really cheap, but honestly, who the hell ships comics without bags and boards? It happens...I remember one moron who simply packed a dozen or so books into a priority mail envelope with no bags or boards...the one on top slid a bit but the others stayed put. I gave his arse some negative feedback...fortunately the book only cost me about 30 cents but still....

Hell, I once had an established dealer send me a 60s page of original art rolled up in a priority mail box. And I was buying it a gift!

And these are his. He collects Detective and Batman. I just like the covers. I really enjoyed that Blind Justice in Detective #598-600. I believe that there, #598 I received in a lot of Batman comics I bought many moons ago and that piqued my interest to buy the remaining issues. I don't think Denys Cowan's art is by any means terrible but I certainly did find it less than appealing. But the story, despite not being terribly original (and the idea being similar to the Cybernauts episodes of Avengers) I was quite fond of it and glad I discovered it.

Lots of Spideys arrived today, but I won't bore you with pics of all of them, so I will only post two pics. And just when I thought Kraven's costume couldn't get any worse. It did:

That's the only Kraven story I own. The Mike Zeck art is nothing short of gorgeous. The story is .... what it is. I guess it was a bit horrific at the time, but damn it looks beautiful. :-)
Edit: And I'm partial to the black symbiote costume too, so that helps in the visuals department.

But, but!: he is wearing leopard panties! The metaphoric battles between the hunter and the spider will haunt my memory (I'm aracnaphobic) more so than man panties. :-) Edit: But I get what you mean Ms CW. Atrocious costumes can be quite distracting in a visual medium like comics. I think it's the biggest reason, for me, comic characters belong in comic or animated. The glimpse I saw of Flash on TV I couldn't take seriously just on visuals.
