I asked my LCS to get me Love and Rockets V.1. They got me this instead. It's a great book, if you haven't read it yet do you a favour and keep it!

Fwiw the Catwoman purple dress makes an appearance in 1967's World's Finest #169 (the first Batgirl-Supergirl team-up) courtesy of Curt Swan, although... ...as may have been discussed elsewhere on the CCF forums, this isn't really Selina That's one of my favorite Silver Age stories! However ... It's not Catwoman, it's Bat-Mite, and apparently he either prefers the purple dress or he doesn't know she wore a black cat-suit with pants for her return in Lois Lane #70. She wouldn't wear the green suit in Batman #197 until a few months after WF #169. Yes, I know it turns out not to be Catwoman--that's why I included a spoiler in my post . But evidently, in mid-1967 Swan thought the dress was still her standard costume. Me, I'm partial to the green sequined-looking catsuit she sported in Batman #197.

I get the feeling that concern for costume continuity for non-starring characters was pretty loose at DC in the 60s, especially if it wasn't the editor's character. Also, no idea if Swan asked for a Catwoman reference, had one handed to him, or had to dig through is own files. Here's how she looked in a '66 card set (drawn, i believe, by Wally Wood).

I asked my LCS to get me Love and Rockets V.1. They got me this instead. No, that's right. That's A Love and Rockets vol. 1. L & R is 2.2 creators: Jaime, Gilbert, and sometimes Mario. The above volume reprints the first of Jaime's stories - (Which I'm not a huge fan of, actually.) Their was another series of TPBs/HCs that started with vol. 1. They are larger page dimension-wise but less pages - the one you got is a better value. The first couple volumes had work from both Bros., but after volume 4 or so that series also split into Jaime and Gilbert ONLY books like the above. But I'm pretty sure those are out of print anyway, so your LCS guy did what he could.

I received this today: It's the one and only time I do not mind Namor with the X-Men. And, though Kirby did not draw my most favorite Namor, I still love his Namor. I also received this t-shirt today. I ordered a medium, but I should have ordered a small or extra small. I might have to wear it to bed.

Ohh... that's a great one! I love Namor interacting with Villains (which is why I'm digging Supervillain Team-up)

Ohh... that's a great one! I love Namor interacting with Villains (which is why I'm digging Supervillain Team-up) I love this book. I love this story. I love how he decides not to partner up with Magneto because he doesn't care for how Magneto treated Scarlet Witch. I love Kirby's art. I love that Namor is wearing his red trunks here. Not because his red ones are my favorite, but because they're different. I LOVE whenever he teams up with Doom.

The trunks were probably a coloring error. Like, a couple X-mens ago the Scarlet Witch was green on the cover.

Did Catwoman actually ever wear that particular costume in the Silver Age? It's not the one she wore in Lois Lane #70, Batman #197 or Batman #210. Perhaps they're using the same definition of "Silver Age" as the people who think Identity Crisis was a "love letter to the Silver Age," where the Silver Age lasted until the 1980s. The BEST silver age BATfigures EVAR!! Just sayin'

Because Quicksilver is in blue in the background there, but I'm pretty sure he was still in his green costume at this time. I don't think the blue one was introduced until later. But Namor did wear red trunks around this time. He was wearing them in FF #4, I believe. Even though, I know this was a bit after that issue, same art, same writer.

Huh. I didn't know that. They fixed that in the reprint I have.
But I'm at the library, let me see if their copy of FF vol. 1 is in.
Yep! Red trunks in the most recent reprint! Huh.

This is the Namor you do not like. This is the Namor I find hilarious. hahaha. But I really, really, REALLY want a golden age Namor t-shirt. I think I have just the scan I want, too.

Wow. That's a beautiful X-Men #6. That may be the last appearance of Namor's red trunks. He had worn them the previous month in Fantastic Four #27, but by his next appearance in that book, #33, he is in the green trunks again.

It is rather pretty. I'm quite happy with it.
