a bunch of $5 trades... I paid 25 bucks for that Infinity HC. Nice pick-up, man. I bought the first one in the trilogy for full price. I read vol. 2 and 3 form the library for free and decided if I saw them on the cheap I would pick them up but wasn't going full price on either one. Still haven't found vol. 2 on the cheap yet, but I can be patient. Pretty much the key t being able to buy what I do is being patient and understanding what I can find for a better price at another time and what I need to pick up before it jumps in price. More often than not, patience pays off with better prices down the road. -M

Some recent hauls. Not pictured. Too many to take pics of. Got Airboy by Dixon #1-29 except #9 for $.25 each...normally $.50 but they were running a sale. Finished my Mike Grell Green Arrow run by getting #51-80 and a few Annuals. Not a classic book...but a classic story. Only $5. Some autographs I got from Mike Grell and Mike Zeck at a recent show.

I miss going to the big cons and getting blow out prices on books.

Theta Sigma, that City on the Edge of Forever teleplay would be an interesting read.

Theta Sigma, that City on the Edge of Forever teleplay would be an interesting read. Yeah I'm really looking forward to it as it is one of my favorite Star Trek episodes ever. I'm interested in seeing what Harlan Ellison had originally intended for the episode as this is his original teleplay. It also has gorgeous art by J.K. Woodward so that's another plus.

My understanding is that were were come changes that Ellison was angry about even decades later, so it would indeed be interesting to see what he'd had.

It's been a while since I read it, but IIRC it involved a drug deal gone bad among crewmembers, which went against Roddenberry's view of an improved, enlightened humanity. Plus, the ending was different. And it would have been expensive to film.

The 90s might be my least favourite decade but I just increased my stash with these 2 sets. The covers are nice for those who appreciate a well rendered female, in an era which was besmirched by shoddy tits and ass.

I was thinking of getting a copy of the much coveted (by me) Detective Comics #311 for myself for Christmas, so I started looking on eBay to look for the current prices and what I can expect to pay and then I was planning on checking every week or so and look to get a good deal. It's the first Catman and also the first Zook, and I'd have a hard time deciding which is more important to me. It costs quite a bit more than the other issues of Detective from that time period, 1961 to early 1964. In the past, I've seen a rather beat-up but complete issue (G or G-) for $30, and also pretty solid copies more in the VG- range at around $80. Right off the bat, I found a copy that looks better than the $80 copy I saw several months ago and is only going for $50. So I got my Christmas present for myself a little earlier than I expected. It's so crazy looking! It was on the stands the same time as the Cuban Missile crisis.
