A lot of fun and some really good stories! I didn't get Batman #266 until much later, seven or eight years ago, and it gets a lot of points for being SO CRAZY! It's also notable because Catwoman went back to her flowing purple threads for the first time since the 1950s! BEST CATWOMAN COSTUME!

Just bought these from eBay...Batman #266 & Superman #400. ![](https://s19.postimg.org/yoraci6g3/s-l1600.jpg) Batman #266 was the 2nd Batman issue I ever bought of the racks. #250 was the first (and my first super-hero comic ever). A 16th month gap between issues was not uncommon for me when reading comics as a kid (Avengers was the only book I managed to pick up semi-regularly, with Invaders being the second closest to a regular purchase until I subscribed to Iron Man around 1978). -M

I have two copies of Superman #400. One I bought when it came out and I found one in a dollar box a few years back. I couldn't pass it up.

What exactly are coverless comics worth, a certain percentage of the "poor" grade?? With the first wrap missing as well that would bring the value down significantly more I would assume. I suppose if someone owns a complete copy but certain pages are torn or chunks missing then a coverless copy could be combined to make it a whole. I think I read somewhere once that people buy coverless comics and then attach photocopied covers to make them more aesthetically pleasing. Depends on the book. A coverless copy of All Star Comics #8, grades 0.3 just went for $3061 in the January Prime Auction at Lonestar, with 32 bids on it. auction pageOn the other hand I got almost a full short box of coverless books or books with detached covers for $10 from a dealer friend of mine that was mostly stuff like Sugar & Spike, Archie, Harvey and early Bronze Superman stuff. I'll use if in some decoupage and collage projects over the next few years so I didn't want to pay a lot, and none of the stuff I got was high demand stuff anyways. Like anything else in the market, if it's a key and in demand, it will go for a higher price (even coverless), if it's just fodder issues, it's a bargain sell (with or without covers). -M Speaking of coverless books, my dealer friend Dan (of Jim & Dan's comic shows and store) just posted this pic of a coverless book he got in the shop... ![](https://scontent-ort2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/27067698_10213762671092902_504288224781425398_n.jpg?oh=9130990487e3b070af93c97bc26a0505&oe=5AE64A29) yep, that's a coverless Action comics #1... -M

That #627 ![:|](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/plain.png) Since his first appearance was in #27, #626 is actually his 600th appearance in the title. Not sure how DC screwed up basic math so badly.

Another eBay purchase...2 Batman 80 PAGE GIANTS!! ![](https://s19.postimg.org/n14683o5v/bats2.png) #176 is in a very nice VF+ condition and I paid close to $60 for it!! #198 was listed in closer to a FINE condition, but I find that the noticeable imperfections are not so bad & I got it for a steal at $18!

My first CGC purchase... ![](https://s19.postimg.org/jqy53hf83/AC500.jpg) Comic looks to be about perfect, but perhaps the 9.2 grade is because the cover is slightly off centered or the pages are "off white/white" instead of just "white"? OH...WOW!!!!!!! I just received this amazing comic in the mail today! I had no idea how well protected these CGC comics are, not encased in a flimsy plastic case as I thought...this is ARCHIVAL quality & STURDY!

Speaking of coverless books, my dealer friend Dan (of Jim & Dan's comic shows and store) just posted this pic of a coverless book he got in the shop... yep, that's a coverless Action comics #1... -M Do you know how much it cost? I don't think he ended up buying it (don't know the reason) I know he did buy an X-Men 1, AF 15, Spidey 1 and most of the first 20 issues of ASM as well, plus one of the Brave & the Bold JLA issues from the guy, but not the Action 1, so I don't know if the person who brought it was not selling, just showing off, or whether they couldn't come to a workable price. I won't see Dan until the end of the month when I go to the Jim & Dan show on Feb 25, and I might be able to get more insight into it, or not, as I won't pry into someone's business dealings with a customer I don't know unless they broach the subject. I get a lot of behind the curtain glimpses and info, but I am not privy to everything that goes down, nor do I want to be. -M
