Got these two babies from eBay today. The seller wanted 14.99 and I offered 9 instead. He agreed. That makes my FF run uninterrupted from 113-416.

I'm holding the line on getting a G- copy of 112 for 20 bucks. I have earlier issues but 112 seems to be the logjam issue.

Also, I know many fans consider the Lee/Kirby and the Byrne runs to be the best but I really liked the Lee/ Buscema bunch of issues. Those are the books I started seriously collecting with.

Nothing terribly exciting, but I used the 20% weekend sale at my local Half-Price Books to grab a copy of the Thor Marvel Masterworks #3 TPB for less than $11. It collects Journey into Mystery #111 - 120 and Annual #1.
With this, I just need to find a copy of Thor MM #2 and I'll have all of the JiM stories to go along with an uninterrupted run of Thor issues through about 2010 or so. I looked for it on Amazon, but it is currently sold out, so I'm going to start looking at the local shops while keeping an eye on online sources here and there.

Prinz Eisenherz #19, der Angriff der Sachsenpublished by Carlsen in 1993. That series was a faithful companion when I lived in Germany, but somehow I had missed the 19th book (which covers pages 821 to 866 of Hal Foster’s Prince Valiant. Thanks to Abebooks, I managed to find a copy that was about the same price as what I would have paid back then. I really love Foster’s work, and Eisenherz (er... Valiant) in particular. Such beautiful art, and such excellent lessons in storytelling.

I took a road trip with the wife this weekend in the Catskills and visited a comic store 30 miles away in New Paltz Ny called October Country Comics. They had a section of 1 dollar books. These are what I picked up. The first appearance of Planetary on the flip side of Gen13 # 33.

I lost track of this Walt Simonson book after getting # 1. They had all of them until # 12 except #5. The John Byrne Kirby book.

May Odin of Asgard look upon you. He did, as volume 2 just arrived in the mail (thanks USPS!) from eBay. Can't wait to crack into this in the next few days.

On the way back from a weekend in the Catskills I stopped at a NJ comic show and dropped my last 20 bucks on these .50 books. Superman books are so cheap these days. Could it be that there's so many of them? Man of Steel books
