I've been on a roll. Had not bought much for a year or two and after going to a con around Halloween and then a Black Friday sale, I have done a couple of mail orders to fill out some holes in titles.
Getting close to having Savage Sword of Conan done. Found a great lot that got most of the last 35 issues including the final one. I think I have 5 left to go.
Got a nice Batman #187 reprint giant. Always good to have another old Batman issue.

I just got my Lone Star 'Booksgiving' sale order today (a Sunday)... I was getting a bit paranoid that maybe porch pirates... but not only is it here, but the order I placed about a week after was also with it. Whew, I'm set with comics to read again (I was holding off on the Maximum Security cross-overs and mini until after the Avengers Infinity mini arrived). I also have a run of Slingers, Quicksilver and Generation X from that same 1998-2001 era, plus a few more Captain Americas with the Falcon.
They ran out of Sonic the Hedgehogs free books and substituted a thick Zombies IDW book (guess what my brother and sister-in-law are going to get as part of this year's pressie?) My BF played a zombie in a movie once, but really, I just don't like 'em, sorry. I wasn't all that keen on the Sonic item anyway and didn't even pick a third free book at all, so at least I got the Donald Duck one, and the sale prices were low, so I'm happy.

I'm not supposed to be buying any books at the moment - not till after Christmas at least when I get some spending money - but... I did see three late Sandman Mystery Theatres which I needed for only 9 quid inc postage... ...and then there was a REALLY cheap Dani Futuro that I wouldn't mind meeting up with again after 45 years:

One of my local shops had a 20% off everything sale this weekend. Since I had already finished my Christmas shopping for others, I decided to treat myself. Bought about 2 dozen vintage titles, a few of them minor keys, and a couple of them were the last issues I needed to finish a run. Not going to post them all, but here's three that I did not expect to find-- The Rocketeer 3-D Comic: This book is very difficult to find, especially with the original glasses included. It was originally part of a book-and-cassette tape combo package (aimed at kids I believe-- came out around the time of the movie), and while not incredibly expensive, high grade copies are virtually non-existent. This one had the original Rocketeer 3-D glasses, and is a solid mid-grade copy.
And Yes, that IS a Neal Adams cover!
Next up, Detective Comics #275Again, certainly not a pristine copy, but solid and tight. And last, Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom #4I'm getting real close to completing this series, think I need only 7 more issues, including the big #1. Love these Gold Key/Dell/Western painted covers from the 60's!

Today I purchased one of my Holy Grails. I was feeling a bit sad today , so I went to a comic place in NJ to look around their dollar boxes to drown my sorrows when I saw this in their regular long boxes. I will admit to being frugal when it comes to buying comics , but I had to give in to my impulses and get this book. 30 bucks is more than I like to spend but I worked so many hours this month that I felt entitled.

Yikes! I did a quick tally and saw that I picked up 17 Thor books in the month of December.

Oho!
I was just round at a neighbour's house and he took me into his junk room, pointed at a stuffed-full longbox, and said - "I have no idea where this came from. Been in the house for years. One of my old tenants must have left it... Anything in there of any interest to you? I just want rid of it."
I said, "I think between me and eBay we'll be able to manage something...."

Yikes! I did a quick tally and saw that I picked up 17 Thor books in the month of December. In my best Stan Lee-scripted Elizabethan English voice...(and exactly how does that work for Norse mythology?) ”Forsooth, varlet— methinks thou dost have a fly in one’s ointment worthy of vexing even sly Loki’s mettle”Dr. Stephen Strange translation: By the hoary hosts of Hoggoth, you may have a problem, pal.
