You have nice taste in comics. I like that Emma Peel team up. Thanks. My tastes truly run all over the map. I've never been a loyalist to one publisher-- I just love comics in general... DC, Marvel, Charlton, Dell, etc. I collect 'em all.
With that Daredevil, I now need just 14 books to complete the entire original series run (Daredevil is to me as Thor is to you). Getting real close on completing Doctor Solar, and my bronze-era House of Mystery run too.
One of the big things I'm trying to complete right now is the entire DC 1970-71 run of the expanded books (48 or 52 pages for 25 cents). There are some major keys across the DC line in that run, but fortunately I've got most of the big dollar books out of the way... it's mainly the oddball ones that I'm chasing now... particularly the romance titles, which are incredibly difficult to find.
Regarding that World's Finest, I never thought of Wonder Woman's powerless-era outfits as reminiscent of Emma Peel, but you are certainly right... funny I didn't see that before.
PM me a list of which books you’re still looking for. I might have it in one of my boxes.

Same here--I didn't know anything about the The Avengers British TV show when I was reading the Sekowsky Wonder Woman back in the day, though IIRC a few readers in lettercols mentioned the Emma Peel connection. Hell, back then I didn't even get this reference (from Avengers #83):

Been on the lookout for this and spotted it at a vintage furniture store today. I was shocked when the guy said he only wanted $5!

Cinq dollars! c’était un vol!
I have the French reprint movie tie-in (with additional drapery for the family audience). I would guess from the fact this doesn't have Jane Fonda's face on the front it was printed before the film came out.

Thanks to my wonderful girlfriend who braved the comic shops in her area, alone by the way, I am now am in possession of Avengers 59. J Brave woman! A few years ago now I followed my daughter - mid teens - into a self proclaimed 'geek-friendly' meeting space in Glasgow city centre. The room was silent. Like when the villain walks in the saloon in act three of a western. A whole room full of teenage and middle-aged teenage men paused mid roll-play card game, staring at this attractive (I'm biased but she is) young woman in incomprehension. A girl? Not cosplaying? Not my mum? You could see they were all having real trouble processing this. After we'd looked through the shelves of books /games for sale - which is why we had gone in there in the first place - we left them too it. I'm convinced they still talk about it to this day.

Luckily, most of the comic shops in my area are much more friendly to everyone. Many of them have women working at the stores, which I think goes a long way towards changing/setting the tone in these places.

I was getting cabin fever from being snowed in, so took a ride out to a local antique mall yesterday. One dealer had a box of MADs from the 60s on up for $2 each. Pulled out the Specials. Most of these had the inserts still attached.

Just won an auction lot at Lonestar for the full run of Bat Lash (1-7) and Showcase 76 (1st app). I had a couple of these already, but got the lot for what I have seen #1 going for at the last few shows, so I will likely see about trading the doubles at the next show I go to. I picked up a few other books to round out the order, I'll post pics of the full order when it arrives.

After we'd looked through the shelves of books /games for sale - which is why we had gone in there in the first place - we left them too it. I'm convinced they still talk about it to this day. I remember walking into one Seattle comic shop a few years ago (which shall remain nameless as I couldn't tell you the name now if I wanted to) hoping to find some magazine-sized bags for my collection of vintage music magazines and it was almost exactly like that! A table full of role-playing game people crowded into the small dimly-lit shop freezing mid-activity and looking up as one, the lone employee asking nervously if he could help me. He was polite and even suggested where might have some such sized bags... another shop a few blocks away which was also dimly-lit but more comics oriented (even had Owly on the shelf), but didn't have such bags in stock either... I had to wait for a long conversation about Wonder Woman to end to ask. Both quite a contrast to yet another shop a few more blocks but much more brightly lit with a more general and inviting feel, whereas the previous two seemed mainly just a hangout for a group of regulars, though I understand they are all three gone now. I can tell you I have never been in a music or records shop that was like the two dimly-lit comics places... but then they are going under generally too. There has been the odd dimly-lit record shop, even with a regular hanger-outer or two seeming to live there, but never that semi-shock of seeing and hearing an actual female involved in some unspoken kind of trespassing. Maybe because some of the local bands have a female bass player, drummer or singer-keyboardist? (true)

I think I may have to go back and dig through my slush pile. I have a nearly finished, several page story which I wrote and pencilled based on the incident - as a jumping off point at least. I think it's in the 'I'll Get Back to This' pile because I couldn't think of a strong enough punchline.
I'll go look see if I can work it into anything.
