Went to NJ looking for TP and stopped at a place in Miltown and picked up these following books. You should have picked up some issues of Kickers Inc. or Sonic Disruptors from the dollar bins-- they make a suitable substitute for TP.

I gave in and now have my first 'True Believers' comic... Groot! It's actually pretty darn cool, the original Groot story plus a Hulk (not thee Hulk) from a Journey Into Mystery from the same time period. I just hope I don't get hooked on getting these, even just the Kirby anniversary ones...

Your post and that pic are pushing me harder towards it. Thanks.

A few of them seem to have gained some value as back issues in their own rights, but a lot of them do seem to be available for $1-$2 even in NM.

Talking of Kirby my last purchase of any note was: Battered ("Very Old Condition" the seller described it) but intact and readable which is all I really want from a comic.
You see that purple price stamp on there (T&P 7 1/2 P)? Just above Count NotDracula's head? When I make one of my paper comics - the current one is long overdue - I stick a faked fake one of those on the cover somewhere. I have no idea what T&P stands for. I must look it up someday.

No need to look it up. It stands for Thorpe & Porter who were a British distributor of U.S. comics.

I have a bunch of '70s DCs with that pence price stamp on them, always wondered if it stood for taxes and something paid... now I know. I have had mid '60s Marvels and early '60s Charlton comics with a specially printed UK cover price edition (no cents on them at all), maybe it was Thorpe & Porter ordered them?

Thanks for the T&P info, Confessor.
The big box of comics my neighbour found in his junk room is starting to pay dividends. The ones I wasn't interested in I'm putting up on eBay in dribs and drabs - just sold Venom #1 for 12 quid. It's not going to make me a lot of money but as the place I was going to be working all summer has just shut up shop for the foreseeable due to the Corona virus shutdown every penny will count.

Got this on eBay yesterday Does anybody do big floating heads better than Kirby? I think NOT! You've been having a good year or two now getting your Thor collection together Icc and it's always great to see someone finding their issues on their quest. The internet sure has made the hunt less difficult for those elusive issues (outside of pricing) and you don't have to drive all over town hitting the same shops day in and day out in the hopes that they bought someones collection or issues that you want. I have been enjoying this last year buying things through the internet which the local shops just don't have in their inventory. Many things I might not otherwise ever read and been able to enjoy otherwise.

Ebay is great. Even the shipping works out okay because I live on an Island where I always have to pay a toll to get to the other boroughs. As for pricing, I just wait until the price is where I want it. Many of the books I have gotten lately have been around 5-6 bucks. That's about what a new comic costs without an ending. Also, I'm not prejudice against the mid to lower grades.

The 40 1980s Spirou Magazines I bought the other week but forgot to post here.
I'm loving them! I hope I don't get too enthusiastic for them though and start getting collectory - Spirou was first published in 1938 and its run is up in the region of 4,300...
Today I picked up my second battered Kirby Jimmy Olsen of the month
99p plus postage.

Reg Retail $29.95 Got it for $4.30 sealed so I saved about 85% Early DAWN collected Why spend $5 on a single new issue when I can get a nice HC with around 250 pgs for less?
