It used to take weeks for a Mile High order to reach the UK, but when I place an order with MyComicShop they say it might take 3-4 weeks, but my order always arrives in about a week and a half. Of course, as of now, I'm unemployed, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. So I won't be buying any new comics for quite a while. The only thing you're missing are horrible shipping times: - MCS: 25 days and it still hasn't even crossed the pond.
- MH: 20 days and it still hasn't even shipped.
I'm keeping to mainland Europe for the moment. I still do UK, but no more Silver Acre in a while, the last two orders took a full week to ship.

Somewhere in the last decade I started placing a few orders with MyComicShop/Lonestar via their eBay shop and I was very impressed with a) their prices, and b) their shipping times. I now only use MyComicShop for my big bulk orders. On average, I find their prices are better than Mile High, even when they're having one of their 60% off codeword sale, and the turnaround time is waaay quicker. It used to take weeks for a Mile High order to reach the UK, but when I place an order with MyComicShop they say it might take 3-4 weeks, but my order always arrives in about a week and a half. Yeah, as a fellow non-US resident, I can say that Lonestar's service, and prices for that matter, can't be beat. However, in recent years, their shipping charges have also become too steep for me. I think the last time I placed an order was late last year, just because they were having a rare sale, while before that I placed an order in mid-2018, via eBay, and had the package mailed to my sister's house in Oregon (because I was visiting anyway).

I know it doesn't help or matter to the end customer, but not all of that falls on Lonestar's doorstep. U.S. International postal rates have increased at a ludicrous rate over the last 10 years. They were outrageous when I was selling comics via ebay up through 2006-2007, to the point where I stopped allowing international bidders, but they have gotten worse over the last decade or so, increasing at a much higher rate then domestic rates for similar sized parcels and similar services. Last time I was in the post office, it looked like international rates were 4-5x what they were when I stopped while domestic rates hadn't quite doubled from what they were at that time. -M

It's not just US shipping that's high if you're a overseas customer. I've won auctions from Canada, Australia and the UK and shipping was just as terrible. However, if the purchase price of an item is exceptionally good, I don't mind eating that postage cost.

I haven't tried Canada or Australia, I'm having enough problems with the USA as it is, But the UK has a wide range of prices. I've had deliveries as cheap as a pound and a half, which is even cheaper than domestic.

Yeah, over the past few years, most of my online book (both 'normal' and comic reprint tpbs/hcs) purchasing has been from the UK; there's still a number of vendors who are offering pretty reasonable delivery rates.

Here's a tip of my hat to those of you who live somewhere other than North America. I can't even begin to imagine the challenges involved in collecting comics from the USA when you live in a place where there was no normal distribution of USA books. Of course, in many nations you have your own thing in terms of comics, original characters, etc. And then there are those places like the UK where USA publishers had their own localized editions of some USA titles.
But still... I imagine that it's a wee bit more difficult than collecting stamps! I have only a handful of comics from other countries... sometimes the various differences in format, content and even storylines are incredible.

And let's not forget all those translated editions, like the ones I post from time to time in the "40 years ago this month" thread. Still, at one point in your collecting life, many realize there's nothing like the original edition. This doesn't always equate to floppies, for example, I'm anxiously awaiting the Thor Omnibus with all of Jason Aaron's run, which I've mostly read in digital form. It hasn't even been announced yet, but does anyone doubt they'll green-light it or that it'll be beautiful?

A bit battered but intact (and likely to stay so longer after the remedial gluing and taping session I had on it). A Spirou album. 3.11 (UK Pounds) which included postage from Germany to Scotland. Which strikes me as insanely cheap. The book weighs over 1.25 Kilos came in a brand new mailer. I have no idea how the commercial seller made any kind of profit on this one. (this is someone's stock photo not the actual book I bought.)

The FFs look NM Hard to tell without high resolution pictures and adequate lighting, take a look at this one:
This is from a comic graded as VG/FN, but you could pass it for a NM, specially if you put it inside a bag (as some eBay sellers do).
Not saying they aren't, just that they could range from 9.4 all the way down to 5.0.

I find that many eBay sellers give sparse descriptions and instead refer you to the pictures. One of the Thor books I got had pencil marks on the cover that were visible on the picture.
