Finally got the True Believers: Captain America comic to go with the Groot one... seemed to be hard to find at a price I was willing to pay considering these were all $1 originally. There's one more I still want from that batch too... sigh. Three issues in on World's Greatest Comic Magazine a Lee/Kirby tribute headed by Erik Larsen and various artists doing classic '60s Fantastic Four... so I added #4 to the above order. I'm not sure if I even like this, I could do better with some True Believers reprints of the original run instead... really interesting though how Eric Shanower could do such an accurate mid-late '60s Kirby in one issue however.

I've started documenting my new pickups on my YouTube channel, so I thought I'd share it here for people who want to hear me talk about my new acquisitions. This one is mostly romance and Archie books with a couple other things tossed in: I got the YT notification (that's a plus-- sometimes you get 'em, sometimes you don't, despite having all notifications turned "on" ). However, haven't had a chance to watch it yet. It's on my to-do list. Still catching up on your back-content.
And here's a shout-out PSA for Crimebuster's Youtube channel. If you like quirky, oddball comics in addition to the mainstream super-hero faire, I strongly suggest you give his channel a look.
And Scott-- you can mail my endorsement check to the usual address. (kidding)

Great stuff (and I'd compliment you on your taste is super-hero attire, but I am wearing the same Superman t-shirt right now and it might come across as self-serving) -M

Based on MDG's recommendation in the Bargain Hunter's thread, I checked out Hamilton Books and found a pair of volumes o the Spirit Archives at a great price. I ordered Vol. 25 (containing the Spirit Dailies) and Vol. 26 (containing the post Spirit Section original Spirit material Eisner did for Harvey, Warren, etc.). I also ordered this book published by Fantagrphics... as it looked like a fascinating read. They won't arrive for a couple of weeks though. We also had an Amazon gift card as part of our banking rewards, so I ordered a few comic related things... a retrospective of the work of the Black Kirby art collective marrying Kirby-inspired art with Aforfuturistic content another Spirit Archives Vol. (Vol 7) and Vol. 5 and 6 of Jack Katz's First Kingdom. I'll post actual pics when stuff arrives. -M

I'm still waiting for 4 books that I ordered. One of them is a month old, but it looks like one of them finally arrived to my post office and might come today.

You guys... today came the Lone Star order, which I didn't even touch. On top of being three days shy of two months old, it was pretty banged and patched up. I wish them the best of luck with that one.

I know this isn't the "There. I Said It." thread, but Gil Kane looks like he could easily have fathered both Alan Cumming and Paul Reubens. Those three men are not at all dissimilar looking.
There. I Said It.

I'm seriously considering staying away from eBay for a bit after I found myself buying this for 3 Euros (inc postage).

I got a lot of romance comics from ebay today, and one was so musty that I had to put it in the basement in a box. I couldn't keep it in my room, the stench was so bad. I guess they can't all be winners!

I guess they can't all be winners! A few years ago I bought some Bronze Age Superman's and they all had that smell. I think it goes away, as I haven't really got a whiff of it the last few times I went through my books.
