The post yesterday bought this: Another 3 months' worth (600 pages ) of collected weekly Gallic Goodness. Most of yesterday was spent flopped on the bed with it, and a dictionary. I was up till 2am. I'm starting to get a handle on the sometimes very cruel/morbid French sense of humour. This NSFW strip just had me in hysterics. (Though as this was on the back cover of a weekly kids' comic in Belgium & France I guess it's perfectly safe for French and Belgian offices and, presumably, perfectly acceptable for the person sitting opposite you on the bus to it too. It's just us prudish Anglo-Saxsonic coworkers' sensibilities need protecting from this smut.) En français: i.ibb.co/3knNPyk/Le-Petit-Spirou-Fr.jpgMy translation into English: i.ibb.co/cb5ZLGz/Le-Petit-Spirou-Eng.jpg(If nothing else, Beccabear, it shows that it's not just boobs that I find funny.)

Disappointment of the day was that this: which arrived at the same time as the Spirou didn't live up to anything like the promise of the cover - how could it? (It also had a page missing - boo hiss!). The insides are a translation of an Italian Fumetti. A very unmetric 7 by 4 and a half inches with two really badly drawn panels per page on horrendously crappy paper of endless talking heads telling each other the plot so far. At the end of the book - for some reason lost in the mists of time there are 15 pages of Betty and veronica - here rechristened Brigitte et Hélène. (Archie is called 'Robert' and Jughead is 'Serge'.) Bande dessinées pour adultes, mon cul!

Engaged in a little bit more retail therapy tonight. No shows on the horizon so I did a little mail order.
First order was for Vol. 3 of Jack Katz's First Kingdom; that will give me all 6 volumes.
Next I placed a little order with Lonestar, we'll see how their shipping does with everything going on. This is what I grabbed...
-Conan the Cimmerian (2008 Dark Horse) 25A -Dreamer GN (2000 DC) 1-1ST -Mack Bolan the Executioner (1993) 1D -Superman The Dailies HC (2006) 1-1ST -Terry and the Pirates TPB (1986-1992 NBM) Classics Library 14-1ST -Terry and the Pirates TPB (1986-1992 NBM) Classics Library 15-1ST -Terry and the Pirates TPB (1986-1992 NBM) Classics Library 18-1ST -Terry and the Pirates TPB (1986-1992 NBM) Classics Library 19-1ST -Terry and the Pirates TPB (1986-1992 NBM) Classics Library 20-1ST -Terry and the Pirates TPB (1986-1992 NBM) Classics Library 22-1ST -Terry and the Pirates TPB (1986-1992 NBM) Classics Library 24-1ST -Tomahawk (1950) 133 -Tomahawk (1950) 134 -Tomahawk (1950) 135 -Tomahawk (1950) 139 -Yang (1973) 2 -Yang (1973) 6 -Yang (1973) 7
That will wrap up the Conan the Cimmerian title for me. I have been looking for that last issue of the series since 2012 and haven't seen hide nor hair of it at any shop or show I have been to, so I broke down and paid Lonestar for it even if they were asking a little more than I wanted to pay. It still always feels like cheating when I give in and order a book like that after hunting for it for so long.
The Terry and the Pirates volumes should give me all but 2 or 3 of the NBM volumes, so I will have almost all of the Caniff stuff on it.
I finally took the plunge of the Son of Tomahawk mini run at the end of the Tomahawk series. Four will make a decent start on that, and I will see what I can turn up at shows later this year or next.
The Yang issues represent half of what I needed to finish that series. I only need the final 3 issue of the run now.
The copy of the Dreamer replaces a copy I lent out and never got back many moons ago.
I have a nice hardcover collection of the early Superman Sundays, so decided to dip into the dailies to see what they were like too.
And the last issue, the Mark Bolan book, is a curiosity of their weekly dollar book list. I like the novels well enough, so decided to drop a buck to see how the comics were.
I'll post pics when everything arrives...

I talked to my boss and he told me that anything sent by media mail can take up to 8 weeks to arrive. I have about 5 books that are in limbo because of the cheap postage. I'd rather have spent the extra money to have it come first class. That's odd. Now that my last US parcel arrived (Friday), I've checked them and the very first one (Cages HC), which was described at eBay as "International Priority Shipping"... I think it was Media Mail (at least, that's what it says here under "Product Information"). This are the shipping times:
- USPS First Class: between less than 6 weeks (Standard International Shipping ?) and over two months. 3 parcels. - USPS Priority + GSP: 16 days. - DHL eCommerce: 2 weeks. - Asendia: 18 days. - Media Mail: 18 days.
Was I just lucky with this last one?

I love it when you buy a book you need for the right price. And then you find out after that it was also signed! I’m assuming it’s legit as the guy said he recalls having jt signed 35 years ago.

Got this in the mail today. Yeah I know, I posted a pic after receiving this a few days ago. Long story short- I order a 4.0 copy of this that was lost in the mail for almost 2 months . The seller refunded me, so I bought this 6.0 copy a few days afterwards. Well the 4.0 copy arrived and the 6.0 copy arrived less than a week later, so I have 2 copies now. But this seller also threw in a few extras- and
