My Comic Shop order sent Jun. 2nd still hasn't made it here... this could be a new record. Hope it gets here this week! Also have two comics from Cali mailed Jun 12th still not here either. I wonder if they are quarantining parcels? Even so others from other states have been making it up within two or three weeks, but TX and CA seem very slow. I get things faster from Europe. The BF had a CD take three months from Japan though, it's just the way things are these days. I took the plunge on Spider-Woman (Byrne/Sears, #1-6) and also on Spider-Girl (M2, #1-4)... anyone got a Spider-Girl #0 (1998, reprinting What If #105) reasonable? I guess it's not essential though, if I never get to read it I expect I'm fine. I'm also going to give A-Next and J2 a try. So far the only thing M2 I have gotten is a Wizard Wild Thing #0 and it was fun. I never read the what if and didn't miss it. MC2 is fun.. it's just about the opposite of 2099... instead of a dark, corporate run world with few heroes, it's basically the regular Marvel universe if they let 16 or so years pass after May was born.

A nice silly corner of the MCU future which recognizes the past influences the future and says What If all our current heroes & villains aged naturally and had kids or trained the next age of them. Lots of classic Marvel joy.

Egads you forget how to Google?😉 MC2 OR MCU2 was the imprint of titles under Tom DeFalco that comprised a WHAT If future alternative. Essentially what If the Marvel Universe advanced naturally and the next generation of new heroes and villains were derived from being the children of our favorites. There was 6 titles: Spider-Girl, Avengers Next, J2 (son of Juggernaut), Fantastic Five, Wild Thing (daughter of Wolverine) and then several mini-series . All ere in the classic/traditional 60/70s Stan Lee mold of light hearted fast moving fun style comics.

No problem. Glad to help. Bought them fresh of the press at the time. Liked Spider-Girl and A-Next and J2. After those 3 it kind of went downhill IMO.

Well as so often happens the moment I type something it shows up... the Lonestar/My Comic Shop order arrived today. I ordered A-Next #1-12 and J2 #1-12 in sets so glad to hear if they are the better of the MC2 titles... I only went for Spider-Girl #1-4 because of the positive mentions here. Whether I ever get any regular issues of Wild Thing (Daughter Of Wolverine) or The Fantastic Five I can't say... though I see The F5 are in Spider-Girl #3 at least. I like almost any Ron Frenz comics!

I have read the other MC2 titles though, with the exception of the Last Hero Standing and Lost Planet Standing mini-series. Other MC2 characters do make periodic appearances in Spider-Girl (as you noted about F5). But DeFalco is restrictive of how much he discloses in those guest appearances. There are couple characters whose secret identities go unrevealed in Spider-Girl for a long time, but it seems that their identities were already revealed a year or before in their solo mini-series.

I got a Spider-Girl #0 after all, and a #1/2 (Wizard) plus Wild Thing #1 in a make-an-offer deal that went back and forth a bit over a day. With the combined postage it is about my limit on them (#1/2 was less than I expected to pay but #0 more than... kind of evens out). Okay, last purchase for a long while now.

I like those make an offer deals. Some people don’t play it right. I offered 8 dollars for a book and didn’t get a counter offer and it was sold for 9 dollars the next day.

I've had similar situations, but it was because the seller preferred to keep it in-country. If this one was from the US too... that might be weird behavior.

He never even countered .

If the seller isn't as plugged-in as some he may not have seen the offer before it sold. I've had counter offers I rejected in the past and didn't get whatever it was, I just have a this is what a thing is worth to me and no harm no foul if someone doesn't like it or if their counter offer is still too high. I'm mostly small potato comic books though, very rarely anything past $20. I also look to see if something has been sitting there for awhile, if it's a new listing I wouldn't make an offer unless it was a minimal amount off or part of a package deal. I think I got plain lucky with that Wild Thing #0 Wizard issue without really knowing it at the time... it was only a whim addition to an order and I've since seen many at double the price or more. I didn't think I would ever get into the whole M2 thing but it has struck my fancy as pandemic entertainment. As with Amalgam or Flashback -1 issues I'm fine not getting absolutely everything. DC had some titles with a character 'plus' another... and I had a Supergirl/Mary Marvel one-shot and recently added a Wonder Woman/Jesse Quick, and that will probably be as far as i go with the 'plus' titles. I think I have all but a couple of the Marvel co-billed 1998 annuals though (the Silver Surfer/Thor one being a little harder to find).
