"Um....Mister Stretchy-Man...Concrete Man....Captain America....and...wait, don't tell me...uh...Mister Swims-Real-Fast?" Your wife is brilliant! She envisioned an FF comprised of Jim Carrey, a local cement contractor, Captain America, and Michael Phelps! Put JR Jr. on it, and I'm back buying new comics again! But what good would JR Jr. be in a fight against Doctor Doom? Sure, he has that whole "only ever Hunk of the Month" thing going for him, but other than that?

10) Make up your own question If you could design a comic, what would you make it? I would design a superhero comic with a young fifteen year old female because I've had many students who are girls and read comics, but I don't feel like they're represented where the character is not half-naked, and whatever powers I give her would be metaphorical for things teenage girls deal with, but not in a cliche way. I'd be writing for a teenage fifteen year old girl audience. And I think that kind of struggle is important for males to read and understand as well. While the protagonist would be a fifteen year old girl, it would be a good story that transcends demographics and is for everyone. The comic she is describing is the current Ms. Marvel series. It's excellent. CBR picked it as the #1 comic of 2014 and I can't necessarily disagree. Give it a shot if you haven't yet! I shall pass this along!

And it also reminds me to give it to my wife to read

"I don't know anything about them. I'm not interested in them at all. You spend too much money on them. My husband's obsessed with them. Few people in the planet have the level of interest you do."
Sounds harsh but it's not. She's just telling it like it is.
We actually have a very good marriage, though she spends more on clothes than she should. ;-)

We've rarely ever had similar tastes in entertainment, as the longer we've been married we've realized that is okay, and we don't have to pretend for the other's sake. Enjoy what you like, and I will too.

This is a book that I always looked at but just never picked up...I may need to rectify that.

I can relate to this post very well and I was chuckling a bit when I read this!

I quoted her cause it's real.
She got defensive after I told her I was going to post it and I told her it's fine LOL.
We're different but comparable.

I shall pass this along! I think that was part of Claremont's strength with X-Men. He wrote solid female characters, like Kitty, Storm, and Jean.
