How does one go to the first unread post when returning to the site?

I think you're looking for the New button on the left hand side of each thread title.

I've been using the new button, but it always takes me back to the 1st post on the thread.

I've been using the new button, but it always takes me back to the 1st post on the thread. That happens to me sometimes. I think it's that the New button itself is very small. When you miss it you're just clicking the link to the thread.

When you miss it you're just clicking the link to the thread. I don't think that's it, because when I click New, it will take me to the right page (say page 18 for example) for a moment, then sends me back to post #1. But I'll try being careful when I click it and see if that helps.

Also strange, I just tried it on this thread, and it took me right to your post. Just proves complaining does work.

Going to a particular post doesn't always work... if you look at the address, after the page number it'll sometimes say 'scroll to' with a number (which a think is the post # for the whole board).. if that shows up, it'll go directly to that post, instead of the top of the page. Sometimes it comes up, sometimes it doesn't... if there's a method to it, I haven't figured it out yet.

If you go into your profile and select "notifications," it will show you any replies that have been made to your posts. However, it will not direct you to new posts in a thread you care about that are not replies to yours.
I just look at how many hours ago the posts were made and determine what I haven't read from that.
I'll look into other solutions for the board, but I suspect this is another aspect of the software that is determined by the host site and out of my control.

I'm using the "New" icon, and sometimes it works, sometimes not. I'll just keep trying.

I'd recommend editing your profile, going into notifications, and playing with those settings. Hopefully, you'll find a custom notification system that works for you.

The "New" button always works for me in Chrome, but in Internet Explorer I go to the first page as DE Sinclair described above.

You could always try this link: classiccomics.boards.net/posts/recentIt's accessible at the bottom of the main page. It will look like this: Attachment Deleted
