The Larcenet book looks interesting, and I keep meaning to try something by Delisle but never seem to some across anything at a decent price.
What's The Alcocholic Vertigo?
Written by Jonathan Ames. Art and cover by Dean Haspiel. Jonathan A. is a boozed-up, coked-out, sexually confused, hopelessly romantic and, of course, entirely fictional novelist who bears only a coincidental resemblance to real-life writer Jonathan Ames, critically acclaimed author of Wake Up, Sir!, The Extra Man and What's Not to Love? For the fictional Jonathan, writing and drinking come easy. The hard parts of life are love and hope. From a touching relationship between Jonathan and his aging great aunt, to an inebriated evening with an amorous, octogenarian dwarf, to the devastating aftermath of 9/11, Ames's first original graphic novel, with gritty, poignant art by Dean Haspiel (THE QUITTER), tells a story at once hilarious, excruciating, bizarre and universal, about how our lives fall to pieces and the enduring human struggle to put things back together again. ++++ Pretty conventional story but I thought the execution/script was pretty well done! I'm a big fan of everything I read from Larcenet (Ordinary Victory, Retour à la Terre, Donjon Parade, Le Rapport Brodeck,...) but Blast was really different. Dark, disturbing... I really liked it. As for Delisle, I would start with some of his trip chronicles (Jerusalem, Pyongyang, Burma or Shenzen). They are his best books in my opinion. I know that the hostage one was getting pretty good review when it came out but I didn't like it has much (it was also REALLY expensive, big book with a lot of moment of silence reflecting the hostage's solitude. Meh).

I had randomly saved Kriss of Valinor to read on Hoopla a while back, having no idea it was related.. definitely going to start reading some Thorgal before I continue the side series . I don't usually come anywhere need my library's 10 borrows a month, but that might change with the small chunks both Thorgal and Lucky Luke come in. Your library has a borrowing limit? Poor you! Here I can borrow as many as I want and from any of the 20+ branches of the libraries, and when you reserve online they bring the book to the branch the closest to you. We (me, wife + 3 daughters) always have around 40 books borrowed at home. You can ask them to buy any books and they will (if not too old). I recently had them buy a book about a band called Leftover Crack, and they did. They can also have a book from another library in Canada shipped to them if you want to read it. Did it once and they got the book from some public library in Manitoba. You can also borrow DVD, video games, musical instrument, museum passes, etc. Anyway, that was my love letter to the Ottawa Public Library System. I love you xoxo

OGN/Collected EditionThorgal Vol. 4: The Archers (includes #8 Allinoe and #9 The Archers; 96 pp; Cinebook 1985/2008) Two great comics! Alinoé is an amazing horror comic! Try reading Le Cycle de Qâ if available in English, which are #10-13 (Le Pays Qâ, Les Yeux de Tanatloc, La Cité du Dieu perdu, Entre terre et Lumière).

Doesn't the hearing aid also play a role in West Coast Avengers which launched shortly after the Hawkeye mini and the Letterman issue, in particular the initial 4 issue mini. Hawkeye wasn't on the main Avengers team again after the Hawkeye mini until the Busiek run with Heroes Return iirc, so any issues addressing it would be in WCA andnot the main Avengers series after the Letterman issue. -M Ah! Might be in WCA. I know I read that comic but can't find it. My nephew has A LOT of health problem, a lot.... not an easy life... He recently got a (an?) hearing aid and doesn't like it so me and my wife thought that we would give him that comic to show him even Super-Heroes can have some heart problems... Thanks everyone for all your help!

What is the Avengers issue where Hawkeye talks about his hearing aid? I can't find it. All I can find on google is from the recent Hawkeye run but if I'm not mistaken it was addressed in the Avengers comics 30-40 years ago?

Thanks a lot for that link! I will buy the smaller volume and sell the huge one (which is great but really inconvenient to read).

The amazon blurbs say 'expanded from 75 years of DC comics'. But the Golden age on is almost as large as the 75 years one.. not sure if that helps. ... Well I feel dumb. I googled for an hour to see the differences between the books but couldn't find anything, and then I just copied the amazon link to show what the book was without reading the Amazon description, and the answer was there all along. Thank you so much!

Just bought this book and there's a Berni Wrightson Ex-Libris glued in it. I'm guessing the original book didn't have it and the previous owner just glued it. Does anyone have that book and can check for me? Sub-question - does this look like a real Wrightson signature? imgur.com/a/JlymXrQimgur.com/IJG0rumI found that bookplate image on a site that says: "This bookplate was designed by Wrightson himself, specifically for the release of the graphic novel adaptation of Creepshow." ah awesome! I found image of the bookplate online but never with the book. Thanks Tonebone!

That's great, thanks Antoine. I was looking at some of the individual collections but wasn't sure how to mix and match them to ensure I had everything with minimal overlap or repetition amongst the different albums. Do you know if there's a companion volume to L'oeuvre hermétique that contains whatever is not in that one, if anything?
There's definitely more Moebius. This book is just the Métal Hurlant (French version of Heavy Metal) stuff. I also have this one www.bedetheque.com/BD-Moebius-oeuvres-Chroniques-metalliques-Chaos-345404.htmlReprints drawings, paintings, short stories, commercial drawings (publicités - not sure that "commercial drawings" is the right english term...) and more. Another great book. With these two, that covers quite a bit. He also drew I think an Issue of XIII, although it one pass the prime of that series.
