Despite not posting often at all, I've still made my vote. I must say some of the decisions were quite hard with some great contributors here. For some reason, I thought there was going to be one for favourite overall thread too, next time maybe

I would have thought Preacher would have generated a bigger outcry.
I hadn't even heard of the Lucifer tv series, now that would be something. A little bit concerned with the description though
"he retires to Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals." What's that about??

Oh I'm jealous. I want to do the same exercise but can't even find a starting point. Just thinking about that seems daunting enough, so it keeps getting put on the back burner for that mythical day when I have no other obligations and can spend it doing just what I want! I look forward to reading about your exploits

I don't have a set limit for comics, as trying to complete a run of Amazing Spider-man presents difficulties when that special issue you need pops up somewhere (and particularly when you've only been collecting the run within the past 8 years). I do try to get everything as cheap as possible though.
So, I have had to splash out on a few though being: #3 - $360, #4 - $230, #5 - $500 All in the G-VG range, #14 - $140 VG, #28 - $250 Fine and #129 VF $300 (my only over $100 buys)
In saying that though, I have managed to take advantage of various opportunities as they arose eg #121 & #122 for $5 a piece, #50 for $45, #300 - $15.
Down to a dozen left to go now and I doubt I'll be able to get anything for less than $100.
Still haven't bought a single comic book this year yet!

If I had the cash, and it was a book I was after, I'd just get both

Wow, you really aren't that keen on the early stuff, rating pretty close to 3.5/10 for the first 10 issues! That seems pretty Amazing (excuse the pun) to me, and almost makes the rating system pointless. Each to their own though

Hello everyone, I'm Aaron, 38 years old, accountant by trade. I've been on CBR as Sacorn69 since Scott Shaw's time and the introduction of CSBG to the fold. I was hugely shocked and disappointed to be unable to find the classics forum after being away for a little while and was ecstatic to find everyone moving out here. While I have never been a regular or large poster, I logged on daily to keep up with the goss.
I was born and live in New Zealand, and have loved comics most of my life. My first foray was when my mother started buying Whizzer and Chips, Buster, and various DC superhero B&W reprints when I was in my pre school days. I progressed to a subscription to 2000ad at around 10years old, and to Marvels after that, when I eventually found somewhere in NZ that actually sold them. It was either the British weekly's or Australian reprints that were found in stores during my younger years.
Like Tom, my major now goal is to complete my Amazing Spider-man run, with only 15 to go (1,2,6,8-13,15,16,18,72,75,81) to get everything to #545. I also like to read and collect Silver/Bronze age Marvels, Conan (CtB & SSOC), and Vertigo and have around 3,000 comics now, along with a few hundred tpbs.
Spidey #545 was my last new 'floppy' purchased direct from a comic shop, but I still keep an eye on new comics and pick stuff up on the local auction websites for 1/4 of the cost if or when they pop up. If it's not the old Marvel stuff I'm buying, it's seems mostly the indie stuff that I find most interesting these days.
Anyway, I look forward to the new Classic comics board!
