Picked up a mini-series I didn't even know existed. Thanos (2003). I got 2-12 for a dollar each, just need to find #1 now!

Haha, I knew you'd like them! If I have a few doubles, I'd GLADLY trade them for that The Cat book. That looks interesting!

Yeah, getting a domain name is something like 7-9$ a year, if they are not sought after (for example : avengers.com would be WAY more expensive than classiccomicsforum.com)

My wife made me drive an hour out of the city this morning to check a dresser she wants me to refurbish for our soon-to-be-here daughter. It was too big, we didn't take it. While coming back, I spotted a yellow Corvette on the side of the road I knew belonged to a guy who usually buys comics from me. We stopped and there was a small garage sale. I got the following for 50 cents each.
Howard the Duck Magazine #4 Savage Tales Magazine #2 Sword & Sorcery Comix Magazine #13 Savage Sword of Conan #54 Errie #91,112 Deadly Hands of Kung-Fu Magazine #26 Bizarre Adventures Magazine #32 Warriors of the Shadow Realm Magazine #13 Punisher Annual #2 Uncanny Tales #5 Marvel Spotlight #7,30 Miracleman #1 (Moore/Leach) Superman #278 ASM #271 Detective Comics #468,479 Captain America #255 Son of Satan #7 Ghosts #31 Silver Surfer #18 AD&D #1 Beware #25 Fantastic Four 287 Ghostly Tales #114,139 Black Panther #10 Claw the Unconquered #4 Kazar #7
Most of them are in rough shape, but I was pretty stocked for 50 cents each! Saw two guys leaving with each a box of comics when I got there, wonder what they got!
Then, on our way home, we got 2 phone calls... 1) Someone called us about a dresser that was supposedly sold but the buyer cave in, so we bought it for 30$ AND IT FITTED IN MY WIFE'S 2004 ECHO 2) A woman I contacted on Kijiji last fall said she would accept my offer of 20$ CDN for over 60 Savage Sword of Conan, because she's moving tomorrow.
What a great day! Now if England can destroy Italy in 30 minutes, it might take the first spot as "BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!" (Costa Rica already upset Uruguay)

The Dead Milkmen They Might Be Giants (second time)
Forgot about seeing those guys. Caught the Dead Milkmen in Little Rock in probably the fall of '87; TMBG played a free gig at Harding College in Searcy, maybe 30 minutes from LR, in the late '90s. Ever saw Hüsker Dü? Seems like your years of concert going. Which I could have seen them, but I'm too young. At least I saw Flag last Year (Keith Morris fronted Black Flag) and will see Black Flag in 2 weeks.

I like Hoosier X idea too. My english is too bad and my knowledge on old comics is very limited, but I would read it for sure!

So I guess I'll be alone in my team, but I bought a The Goon TPB (Volume 4 or5??) a few years ago, read it, and REALLY didn't like it.. The art is top notch, but I really couldn't get into the story at all... Okay, so you hate fun. (Just kidding-- I guess it's not for everyone.) Haha, maybe! I actually REALLY love fun comics. Big fan of Groo and all the french "funny" adventure books (Sammy, Tuniques Bleues, Modeste et Pompon, Gaston, etc...). Maybe I should give it another try, maybe star with TPB #1!

Has anyone tried any of Dynamite's pulp-era heroes, such as Spider, Shadow, Doc Savage, or Green Hornet? Are any of those worth the paper & the time? I'm getting more interested in that era as I age. I read a couple scattered ones.. they were decent, but not good enough for me to want to pay full price for them. There was something a bit off about them to me that I couldn't put my finger on. So I guess I'll be alone in my team, but I bought a The Goon TPB (Volume 4 or5??) a few years ago, read it, and REALLY didn't like it.. Paul à Québec by Michel Rabagliati. I went to my brother's place and I saw his GF crying on the patio.. Went to see her and she told me she was reading the latest Paul, which I hadn't bought yet... i thought she was maybe too emotional, but I bought it the next day and also cried while reading it... Only time it happened with a comic book.

Snuff is one of my favorite punk bands from the '80s - '90s. The first song I ever heard from them is still one of my favorites and one hell of a drinkin' song. NSFW We need to hang out together. Comics and Punk Rock? Yes please!

Joost Swarte
This is a gentleman I need to meet before I die. I've been a fan of his work since I was 12, reading him in Heavy Metal. Where are you from DubipR? Europe I'm guessing? I'm never met someone not from Québec, France or Belgium knowing so many european artist.

Anyway, I'm looking for other people to play with, as you can send challenges to other.
