Wow, I completely forgot about Gaspard de la nuit. I remember my brother getting volume #1 for his birthday when we were quite young (maybe late eighties?) and thinking it was REALLY weird. At that time, I was probably 7 or 8 and was reading mostly Tintin, Astérix and Lucky Luke. Anyway, I picked it up again 20 years later and absolutely loved it! It took me time to track the 3 other issues though. I need to revisit that soon!
Never couldn't really get into IRS... The Killer is fantastic though!

I'm of fan of Henk Kuijpers' Franka series BTW, the Lambiek's in the sign above this lady, is Lambiek's in Amsterdam, purported to be the world's oldest comics shop. Anyone interested in the larger scope of comic books, strips, animation, etc would enjoy this I think.
I've never heard of this character / book.
Lambiek's website and Comiclopia
Is it in the Redlight District? If so, I went there in 2009. If not, then there's another great comic shop in Amsterdam!

Same here. I think Fable 1-75 is great, after 75 it's still really good! Jack of Fable, the first trade is really good, then it's really disappointing for the next 4 tpb...

Fatale - Read in tpb, it's almost over actually. Great stuff! I read the first trade of Fatale, and maybe it's my english that's not good enough, but I'm not sure I understood everything that was going on. Won't get the second one, unless not until I re-read the first one and can make a sense of it. Only current series I follow right now in floppies from Image are Alex + Ada and Minimum Wage, which I both love!

Neither myself nor dealer ever heard of Blacksad...in fact I'm pretty much in the dark about noir genres. Must venture out of the Big 2 a bit more often... Well it is publish By Dargaud, a French (or belgian???) Publisher, so I'm not surprised that most people haven't heard of it. It's available in english but don't know from whom.

Thanks Roquefort. I'll probably only have to ship one book at a time. I don'T want to sell a lot, so I'll just sell a few more expensive books like First Jonah Hex, First Apocalypse, First Ant-Man,X-men 142, old western Comics, etc...

Here, have some practice: Merci, beaucoup, mais la souris est en dessous de la table, le chat est sur la chaise, et le singe est sur la branche. Quoi? (Copyright, the great Eddie Izzard) There's a few mistakes, and It confuses me a lot, but not bad!

Me and my wife are expecting our first kid in late september/early october and I need to start selling some comics on e-bay to be able to buy a few things like a stroller, a bed, little socks, etc...
Anybody from Canada as any experience with shipping to the USA AND to Canada? Anybody made a chart of what they paid for shipping to different location for 1, 3, 5 comics or TPB?
I went to the post office with a single comic in a box but they told me it changes from location to location. The fees calculator on their website is not that good neither.
Anyway, if somebody knows what he'S talking about, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks!

Among current creators, my favourite has grown to be the extraordinary Gilles Roussel, under his nom-de-plume Boulet. He has an incredibly cool marketing system: he puts his work online roughly every week, and when he's got enough he makes a book out of it. Even better: his material is available in English! Be sure to check out his 24-hour comics. Brilliant stuff. Discovered him a couple months ago when I bought "Notes" 1 & 4. Really good stuff! He was in Québec city a couple weeks ago for Festival de BD.

Man, a Garfield slam. Is nothing sacred? Has anyone read Wood's Northlanders? I liked it quite a bit. It varied from storyline to storyline, but overall very solid. Pretty much what Slam said. The arcs varied but overall, a good series. I really liked the first two arcs quite a bit. Didn't like it... Bought the first trade and couldn't even finish it... In the genre, I much prefer Thorgal, which everyone should check out!
