LOL. This is the official description for the show, via Channel 4: That reminds me of this really boring show that I'd watch on a channel called Dabl, waiting for a rerun of the American iteration of Kitchen Nightmares to come on
Basically three or four women who didn't know each other would attend each other's wedding and then rate them. There was also another wedding show that came on where people would talk about what went into planning their weddings and how much they would spend on them
I'm not married, never have been, and I get that a wedding is a very special occasion, but it feels like these shows are sucking the magic out of it

Now you can just chalk this up to personal taste, but I feel like Peter David era X-Factor, Excalibur, and Generation X were better than the mainline X-Books
Like I expressed recently in the Classic Comics Purchases thread, I also have something of a love for the X-Men Adventures titles

Fantastic Four #14 & #15 and Thor Annual #5 So, I'm getting back into reading the FF after binging on Thor for a solid month or two (about roughly 68 issues). Even though it's still fairly young in the making, it's good to see them constantly building on Subby and Doom as heinously credible threats to the team, while still churning out new ones like The Mad Thinker and Puppet Master (which I still don't understand how he isn't dead from constantly exposing himself to his "radioactive clay") The Thor Annual was great stuff, takes place very early in Thor's godhood (Sif is still a small girl, so it had to be just after he got Mjolnir) with a battle between Asgard and Olympus. My favorite thing though, that's been buggy me since I started reading Thor, is Thor acknowledging how bewildering it is for other gods to exist besides them

All reprint books should be either scanned from the original comics or done by a colorist to look as close to the original printed book as possible. Agreed! I think DC did that with their Golden Age Wonder Woman reprints. But the problem is that when they did the Archive Editions, they used some kind of chemical to remove the colors from the pages, then added it back in. Unless they have a huge warehouse full of older comic books, that's kind of a devastating practice

So we put out some comic books in a small UPS box out of the floor yesterday, surprised that nobody just bought the whole box hoping to pay off their mortgage with it. There was nothing particularly special in there, just a whole bunch of 90's X-Men comics, but I did some digging and came home with a few books I've always found X-Men Adventures particularly interesting, even though as a whole, I'm not big into their more storied runs
There was also this in there, already in a bag and board. First time I ever bought something solely for the speculation aspect {Spoiler: Click to show}

And some of my co-wenches put Marmite on their toast and swallow it with glee....you have to force it down my throat.... I have a very stereotypical Barry McKenzie level Aussie step uncle that pounds Fosters, works construction, and loves Vegimite to bits Is there much difference between Vegimite and Marmite?

Now, I detest mayo, keep it away from me. I don't actually mind Mayo (I like it on a Whopper quite a bit) but I'm curious as to why there seems to be entire online communities built around hating a condiment. But then again, it's the internet, who needs reasons for anything?

Aquaman isn't fishlike enoug h
Neither is Namor, now that I think about it. But I think that comes with the territory of both of them being half-breeds of mer-people and humans

Was thinking about this while re-reading Thor #162. The idea of Balder going insane from lust over Karnilla just really made me uneasy What are some moments in comics, big or small, that really grabbed your attention?

You know, I seem to recall seeing ads and photos of cartoons such as Goober and the Ghost Chasers and Clue Club. I’ve never seen them (and perhaps shouldn’t judge them), but as Shawn Michaels once said, perception is everything; when I did see ads, I just thought I was looking at something that *might* have been an inferior bandwagon copy of Scooby-Doo. Who knows, perhaps those were GREAT cartoons, but perception and bias can lead a person to not bother with something. That’s just one example. I think Fangface was probably my favorite Doo-Knock-Off

Something about the theory of over 45 year olds buying most of the silver/ Bronze Age collected editions sounds off. How many of the older fans still exist in this hobby as opposed to the younger comic fans ? As far as I know , no one has charted the demographics and broken it down. Sounds like there’s no way to know how many true fans of comics are still buying them. Digital sales are still a mystery as they are not included in the final tally. I think the love of a good story is universal, regardless of how old something is
