I hear that the X Men Hidden Years make up for the poor reprints anyway. The Hidden Years have some decent stories such as an earlier appearance if Storm

Very first issue of original X Men was fibe with it just having Magneto by himself.
But then I was getting bored from the next issues where Mastermind and Toad kept bickering etc and Magneto ended up acting like a total goof. Major made it worse too.
Hopefully after reading the Unus issue the other issues will get better and back at being fun to enjoy.

As Im reading through my copy of the Epic Collection Children of the Atom trade paperback for the original X Men.
I find that I was bored and got tired of Mastermind, Toad and Blob. Even Magneto was getting on my nerves too.
Now Im reading the issue of Unus the Untouchable. Hopefully he's better than Mastermind and Toad bickering all the darn time.

Yes I am talking about the 2013 Dark Horse Star Wars series. I read all of it just a couple of days ago.
It was ok just not great or anything. Story reminded me of the repeated use of finding a new planet HQ from the Allegiance and Choices of One novels.
I did manage to read Shattered Empire the other day it was pretty decent I guess. the last issue was kind of a dud I guess involving some tree branches for unknown reasons.

Anyone know what new Star Wars comic series I should jump into ?
The one from 2013 or the newer one from Marvel?
Another question which series has an issue where Luke finds a lightsaber junk pile from a Hutt?

With the older issues of New Warriors. Issue 38 i assume was involved with some story arc where Rage was dying from something.
I still like Speedball but I still dont know a whole lot about Speedball. Speeball a mutant or he get his powers from a lab accident or whatever?
his powers work the same as Cannonball a little bit or different?

Any fans of the original New Warriors comic book from way way back?
Im still kind of a casual fan of the old New Warriors. I still have issues 10 and 38.
Heck as I was digging through an old cardboard box of my main good comics from X Men and Wolverine and Amazing Spider Man etc, I found some other old stuff such as Namor when he had long hair, beard and looked too sexy in his speedos. A time when Namor was going through a phase I guess lol.
New Warriors I like because back then they were a small hero team where they'd take on bad guys where the Avengers would do anything about or whatever

X Men epic collection children of the atom is cheaper on Amazon and cheaper than the Essential Classic X Men Volume 1.
That's what I did a couple of months ago and worth it.
I even just started reading the Children of the Atom Epic Collection today. I'm pooped from the Blob issue lol.
Some of the black and white Essential X Men trades are worth it but I can skip on some such as Essential X Men volume 9-11 where I can get a few certain single back issues cheaper from the comic book shop

I may sound like a broken record when it comes to the old Marvel Comics Star Wars but I was just a little kid in 1983 where the Return of the Jedi movie was my first Star Wars experience then a little bit with whatever comic issues were around for the Star Wars comic in 1984.
I still have the first 4 Long Time Ago Omnibuses and i should start reading them but as I was looking through the pages for the trade paperbacks, i still cant believe the alien characters and action were just weird lol. Fish aliens wearing helmets that had water then Leia being drawn a bit sexy during some old early issues lol.
weird stuff back then Im kinda glad I missed out on that stuff back in 1983

I find that the black and white Marvel Essentials along with an Epic Collection they're easier and pretty cheap lately anyway if you want to really go old school to read up on original stuff for X Men or Avengers or Incredible Hulk.
Plus having an Essential X Men trade paperback or an Essential Avengers is cheaper than trying to hunt down a really old single back issue where the old back issue costs like a thousand bucks

My late 2016 classic comic book goals or pretty much 2017 goals
Stick with my main goal of buying old single back issues of Alpha Flight and single back issues of 1980s-1992 Uncanny X Men. I figred that single back issues of Uncanny X Men from 244 to 290 are cheap than trying to get Essential Marvel Volumes 9 and 10 and 11. This month of November back on the 2nd, I bought Uncanny X Men 244 pretty cheap I think at 8 bucks from the comic shop. Anyways my 2016--2017 goals for classic comic books goes like this which I am stick with
Alpha Flight few issues of Uncanny X Men after 244. Some issues I used to have a long long time ago such as the issue where it had Wolverine,Black Widow and Captain America on the cover pretty much alot of Amazing Spider-Man I missed out on where I did try to keep up but never had the time or money back then in the 1990s 1990s Wolverine Volume 2 series. few singles here and there from issues 76-90. Then mostly stuff I need to get taking place after issue 101. Then I already have Essential Wolverine volumes 7 and 8 so I really dont need to pick up single issues of those. But I do need old back issues from 170 to 185 anyway
