Couple of days ago I bought original Uncanny X Men issue 244 for 8 bucks from the comic book shop. Not bad of a price fir an old single back issue but still a little expensive. Guess the price was like that since 244 is the debut first appearance of Jubilee

I'm going to the comic book shop tomorrow and hope they still have issue 1s still hanging around so I can get issues 1,2 and 3 of Death of X and some of Mighty Thor to go along with Unworthy Thor.
Mostly I'm going to the comic shop to buy old back issues of original Alpha Flight and bunch of old issues of mid 1990s Amazing Spider Man and some of Wolverine mid 1990s series

Back in the day of 1983 I was too young to even read anything from Marvel Comics whether it was Spider Man, original Uncanny X Men or even the old Marvel Comics Star Wars. Return of the Jedi at the drive in theater in summer of 1983 was when I got into Star Wars.
Then in 1984 thats when the old Return of the Jedi 1-4 issue mini series was around at the time in stores at small town pharmacy stores etc.
I didnt get into the old Marvel comics Star Wars comics until later at the tail end of 1984 and a little bit of 1985 and then I was more into Groo, Power Pack, Alpha Flight, G.I. Joe, Spider Ham and the NOW Comics series of Ghostbusters and Terminator.
For those older than me. Im 36 so you people who are in your 40s or even 50s you are the ones that grew up more with the old Marvel Comics Star Wars series so you know more about that stuff than I do.
yeah I bought the Dark Horse Omnibuses that are the trades of the old Marvel Star wars but all I know a little bit is that theres weird wacky stuff such as fish alien people that wear bubble helmets to breathe water and then theres space pirates that look like they came from the old X Men comics.

I have a question for people older than me. I'm 36 and I was 3 years old in 1983 where I saw Return of the Jedi at the drive in theater. Then in 1984 the Return of the jedi comic book adaptation was still selling.
Those older than me, did any of you enjoy the Marvel Comics Star Wars series at the time during 1983. Was it doing good or getting stale while Marvel fans were more into Hulk and Avengers and original uncanny x men at the time?

Anyone know what issues are collected in any trade paperback collections for Witchblade?
This past Monday I went to a Dollar General and found a 4 dollar comic book grab bag of comics which had Witchblade Origins TPB and a really old 1985 issue of Dread Star of Epic/Marvel Comics.
I kinda want to get into reading Witchblade but then that means I have alot of catching up to do.
So what other trade paperbacks have issues after what Witchblade Origins has anyway?

Me personally I think Marvel was taking it way to seriously with the original Avengers, Spider-Man and Captain America back then in the 1960s. The stories and battles felt forced crammed down your throats.
The original X Men and Im glad for both the Epic Collection Volume 1 and the Marvel essentials.
The original X Men was fun to get into. Yes still weird to see snowman Iceman and Angel just flying around being useless whether carrying around a mace or a bazooka or whatever.
Count Nefario and Vanisher were the better bad guys while Magneto returning he was getting a bit boring

I grew up in the 1980s when I was a little kid. Best toys were these that I saw in any store whether it was a small town's Ben Franklin crafts store or Kmart store back in the day of the early 1980s when Return of the Jedi was in theaters etc.
Dukes of Hazzard 3 inch figures. I only had Boss Hogg. I still have the figure but lost the hat a long long time ago
Transformers
G.I. Joe
Captain Power
Star wars of course
Mad balls
Visionaries
Masters of the Universe toys
Power Lords
Go Bots

I'm still a fan of Elfquest and Richard and Wendy they're an odd cute couple and they've been doing pretty good with the new recent Elfquest Final Quest but I get the feeling that they're kinda behind the times or out of touch with what's going on in comic books with the constant superhero comics and other better Independent comic books and odd stuff such as Snotgirl.

Any of the new Rebirth stuff any good or is it just overhyped fad gimmick reboot/remake that wont last.
Although I hear Superman Rebirth 1,2 and 3 have been pretty cool so far
