Once you know what the startling discovery is (though there are hints as to the subject matter earlier in the issue), I have a movie to recommend watching to add some historical context. I don't want to post any spoilers, so unless Stan reveals a bit more about the subject of this story arc, I'll have to wait as the movie recommendation will give the subject away.

I'm looking forward to the new numbering scheme hopefully bringing new readers in by making the issue count far less intimidating.

Just an update that the hardcover became available yesterday in both comic book shops as well as other retailers (such as Amazon). I wonder if the delay in getting this book out (from the original July release date) is why comic shops and Amazon/Barnes & Noble/etc. got it on the same day instead of the usual 2-week staggering?

Lord Hebi is a decidedly not-mammal snake.

Anyone know which issues/stories are included in this and when it's due to his stores/Amazon? -M This contains the TMNT/Usagi 48-page one shot Namazu released last month. This book, however, is 72 pages long as it also contains some supplements (layouts, pin-ups, character studies, etc.). Amazon shows a release date of Sept. 19. Generally, they get their comics 2 weeks after the comic book stores do, so that should put this at a Sept. 5 release at your local comic book shop. Or, as Usagigoya points out, you can get an early copy straight from Stan's online store right now.edit: Looks like Stan's early batch is sold out.

This hiatus is killing me. One more month until the regular title resumes! Yep, and I'm finally all caught up now with the regular series. I still have Space Usagi to look forward to, however.

I really enjoyed the snow ninjas in the last episode. Echoing what others have said, these episodes have made me really want a stand-alone Usagi animated series.

The individual episodes are available after they air for $3 each (HD) on iTunes, Amazon, VUDU, Google Play, etc. Standard definition versions are available for $2.
Just as a side note, I believe this is a 3-episode arc, not 2 episodes.

The hardcover version is my favorite, which is perfect because that's the version I'll be getting. Do we know yet if/when Stan will be selling them directly? I always preorder these things from Amazon so that I don't miss them, and then Stan announces he's selling them directly afterward. I've finally learned to ask first 😊 Sounds like at least the hardcovers will be available through Stan. Add another variant cover to the list. I will be doing a Sakai Exclusive variant both in regular and HC. They will both have the same image, and it will, hopefully, also be a pin-up in the regular HC edition. I will not have the Sakai HC variant at San Diego, though. Daniel will have most of the items on the StanSakai website after the con. There are a few things we are contractually prohibited from selling. Hopefully that helps answer your question.

Stan posted today that he'll also be doing a Sakai exclusive cover which will be available in both hardcover and softcover, with both utilizing the same art. I assume this will be available at conventions and his stansakai.com webstore.

Usagi has a three episode story arc in the TMNT cartoon, so not quite a made for TV movie, but still a good hour-long story.

I'm still reading Matt Kindt's Dept. H and loving it. With Usagi Yojimbo on temporary hiatus, that's the only single issue comic I'm currently buying on a consistent basis.
I did pick up the first couple issues of Black Hammer last year and finally got around to reading them this week. After enjoying those first two issues, I immediately ordered the trade that was just released this week and am looking forward to continuing the series.

I'm on vol. 29, Two Hundred Jizo, which I'll finish today. Then I'll start vol. 30 and once that is done, I'll be all caught up with the main storyline, as I started reading the monthly issues last year so have already read what will be collected in vol. 31.

The question is, will I break my general rule of not buying variants. And I'm not going to count getting the HC and regular as variants. With how awesome the David Petersen cover is, I think it's a rule worth breaking. Stan did say, however, that the HC would collect the variant covers inside, so maybe you don't need all the variants. Who am I kidding? Of course you still need the variants!
