I'll be heading to Memphis to celebrate the life of the second of my two best friends, both of whom have died this year. I'll be with you CCF friends next time. That’s a tough year. Sorry for your loss.

I understand that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a different thing , but I hate that they made Adam Warlock a fool in the last Guardians movie There I said it. Well I guess I am glad I went with my instinct to not watch it after GotG2 being the train wreck that it was. I guess that proves that GotG was the one off actual good MCU movie of the whole bunch. Though I will admit I am curious about Black Panther. But after GotG2 I just gave up on the MCU. And it seems that was a good plan. Don’t get me wrong, the 3rd movie was very good. The depiction of Warlock was disappointing.

It includes a gallery book. You do know that that series is a continuation of the mid-'90s New Gods series storyline, right? So technically, there's 15 issues in the preceding series before #1 of Kirby's Fourth World was published. Yes, I have some of those issues. Byrne takes it over from 12 -15, then it becomes the series I bought.

I agree with the sentiment about getting the actual issue(s) to see the house ads within. They're fun, dynamic, and they still work! I've gotten plenty of back issues that I initially saw through house ads in other issues. I have to ask though, about the cover to #115, what is up with Loki? Is he flying? Is he lording over the fight? Is he leaning over an invisible wall? It's just an odd placement to me. I was going to mention that the cover is poorly designed. Loki's figure diverts the eye from the action and he's missing his torso.

I also bought a 20 issue Jack Kirby fourth world set. It's only missing issue #15.

This is another of my highly sought after issues. This book completes the Jack Kirby New Gods 11 issue series.

Again, that is subjective and where the cover should speak for itself. It's above the cover itself, not the poster's perception of the cover. If a cover fits a topic in the perspective of a poster, that's great, but it should be up to the cover, not the poster to convey that perspective to everyone else. How everyone else sees how the cover fits the topic is part of the the subjective perception of the audience, not the purview of the poster. To boil it down tot he basics, my vote is not based on what the cover means to you or how you see it, it comes down to how I see it and what it means to me, and the poster's perspective is completely irrelevant to that. -M Let’s all wax poetic on the weekly top shelf Friday thread. ( how’s that for the hard sell ?)

Along those lines I started thinking that to add a new wrinkle to this contest Each week posters can add something about the cover as to why it should be chosen as winner for the cover contest Just a thought. I like that idea. That’s quite awesome, actually.

This week all of them are going to be obvious. The one that is not, will get my vote.

Sorry, forgot the Tales of Asgard feature.
Another chapter in Loki's hatred for Thor, but it also shows that he has no loyalty towards Asgard.
