Apparently Byrne's art was good on Iron Fist. Who knew? The horrible 2nd person narrative and Claremont's verbal diarrhea rendered it unreadable. Yes, but without his, we wouldn't have Gabby Rivera's. fair trade.

also, to be fair to him, he's been stubborn about inking himself since at least 15 years ago, and since 2000 or so, for his pencils, 'not the best idea'. meanwhile, Hunt, 1 of Byrne's best inkers, is a mindblowing hyper-realist oil painter now. check out his stuff on his fb page! you'll plotz!! FYI, Dave Hunt passed away back in March. Cei-U! I summon the sad news! I'm gut-wrenched to hear this. But I'm glad you mentioned it. Seems it was mentioned most on sites I no longer peruse. which includes FB. As a painter, his work superceded 'mere hyper-realist oil painting', and to my heart, his inks were beyond compare. It's hard when our heroes fall to the Big C, when we have lost others to the Big C, so we kinda avoid anything to do with the Big C. You're a good and witty man, Cei-U!. I hope you love Mr. Hunt's work as much as I do.

comics sales have been infected with the 'partisan virus'. I don't mean any disrespect, so please don't take it that way, but.... what in the world are you talking about?? the meaning is very simple. it means, according to comichron, semi-recent lessening sales of traditional monthly-comics is correspondent with certain writers spending more of their time on social media espousing partisan-politics rather than spending that extra ‘free’ time making their scripts better. This is more the case with Marvel than DC, as DC still has a ‘we make comics, we pay you to make comics, use twitter to mainly blab about comics or even your non-comics-medium writing but keep your politics to yourself, until you get paid to be a politician, buddy. Or switch to Rich Johnston’s/Heidi MacDonald’s side of the street and get paid for opinion, rather than plots/scripts.’ It seems Spencer and Slott (maybe even Waid) haven’t learned from the mistakes of Byrne and Miller, albeit Waid/Spencer and Miller Byrne being philosophically apposite in their relative opposition.

watched again, this time on small screen. wanted to see it again before weighing-in here.
still love most of it. too much forced humour with many jokes that feel like when Mark Waid tries to write 'funny' lines for millenial characters. 'lead balloons', anyone?
and Dormammu. better than the misty sphincter in the sky of Galactus in the 3rd ff film, but not by much.
Aside from that, adored it.
8.5 outta 10.

Which is all fine and dandy if one accepts the universe as being entirely deterministic. However, the very existence of radioactivity proves that it is not... at least not entirely. It is impossible, even with an infinitely complex computer, to predict when a particular radioisotope will decay. On average, sure, we can expect that a bucket-full of radioisotopes will have decayed by so much in any given length of time... But for one atom it is impossible. A really determined determinist would argue that it may be impossible to predict now, but we may someday figure out how to predict the fate of every atom. and when they can predict the fate of a tachyon, i'll buy them a slice of cheesecake. the preceding statement was VERY philosophical.

just have to add Perez's work around 2000 or so on the Avengers, some of his finest, and unlike Byrne, he'd improved his game after 20 years, vs becoming a 'caricature of his old self'. which to be fair i think Byrne did no earlier than 2004. I can't dispute this statement. He became more cartoony and the figures have less weight to them. also, to be fair to him, he's been stubborn about inking himself since at least 15 years ago, and since 2000 or so, for his pencils, 'not the best idea'. meanwhile, Hunt, 1 of Byrne's best inkers, is a mindblowing hyper-realist oil painter now. check out his stuff on his fb page! you'll plotz!!

As long as she doesn't do some of what she did to fellow creators in the 90's, this will be a great thing.
no, i won't cite specific names, don't ask.
