I just don't think comments towards other people's family here work, as few of us know each other in any more context that a name and a picture. I can understand why someone might take offense to the comment. I can understand you meaning it as a compliment. I also think that the more mature comment given the fact we are online would have been "your sister sounds like an awesome woman!". More professional, comes across fine and zero creep factor. I did not make a comment aimed towards someones SPECIFIC family, only towards ANY female that likes comic books...it was a compliment if anything. I don't get why ANYONE would take offense to this....but evidently the MODERATOR collective here thinks every little thing is a warning type issue.

I'll tread lightly here .... but I've learned sex, sexy, and women as sexual creatures are a very delicate subject on this forum. I've just learned it is what it is. The only ever moderation/warning I've got on this forum was on those subjects. So I just stay away from them. Thanks, so nice to know we cannot talk about women as sexual creatures, I suppose they just need to remain mysterious figures??

So recently another poster made a comment that his sister liked an FF movie or liked a comic book, or whatever....so I commented back, saying "your sister sounds hot". Ok, so this comment warranted that I receive a WARNNG and my post removed! Ok, guess the comment was lost on the Moderator collective here as I only meant that it is hot when a female is into comic books/the hobby. Apparently my comment was misunderstood as being degrading/sexist towards women and a certain posters sister, which was never my intention. Sorry, but since women are not in the norm when it comes to comic book collecting/interest I do happen to find that hot/sexy/interesting when they are into the comic book geek realm. NO APOLOGY HERE! I mean, seriously, wouldn't you want a girl who is into comics, isn't that hot??

I've been bidding on Detective Comics #347 for a few weeks, trying to see if I can luck out and get a nice mid-range copy for a bargain bid, but NO LUCK! But I went ahead and purchsed a copy that looks pretty nice overall, but the cover isn't attached at the lower staple, so it cost $16.50. So that's the last issue of Detective I need to have every issue from #301 to the present! I also bid on #275, the Zebra-Batman issue, and I'll know if I got that one on a few hours. Probably not. I'm not bidding any higher and I'm sure I will be outbid. Dang, Robin looks so intense on that cover, sweating/crying profusely and all!! These are the covers that forced/enticed people to buy comics in those oh so classic of days!

I prefer the Hall of Justice over the League Satellite Tower in space. BTW, I haven't seen the Super Friends cartoon in years, getting kinda nostalgic for it. Are there any streaming sites to watch it for free?

I never cared for New Teen Titans post CRISIS. I tried to like it and read random issues but it just wasn't the same for me.

Been reading some earlier Moon Knight. Loving it, some real good stories and it is just so different from a lot of the other stuff I have read. Are any of the later series like Marc Spector: Moon Knight as good? No. Only the earlier Moon Knight. For me MK was good when he appeared in the Hulk Magazine and then in his first solo book from 1980. Bill Sienkiewicz and Moon Knight were symbiotic!

Just read Batman: Dark Detective #1 (2005) by Steve Englehart & Marshall Rogers. I guess I'm just old, but it's odd for me to think of something published in 2005 as classic. Also, I have the Dark Detective tpb - I was a bit disappointed by it to be honest. I agree. This is the first time I have read Dark Detective and was not overwhelmed. I have the "Legends of the Dark Knight: Marshall Rogers" book and it is reprinted along with the other classic issues from the late 1970's. I will read Dark Detective #2-6 and then judge the mini-series as a whole.

Remember When: there weren't very many comic book toys/collectibles to be bought and instead you had to be creative when playing superhero? When you couldn't just purchase a costume or accessories other than at Halloween time? The rest of the year was spent running around in a blue shirt and jeans with a red sheet tied around your neck pretending to be Superman! You used the aluminum garbage can lid as Captain America's shield or worse tried to find a red/white/blue Frisbee to throw at your evil sibling. And if you were lucky enough to borrow from Dad's tool box some giant rubber mallet for heaving about Mjolnir across the yard?!? Of course being Two Gun Kid or Rawhide Kid or Kid Colt or Lone Ranger was fairly easy with cap guns. I converted my old karate gi along with an old pair of boots into becoming Luke Skywalker with my 1st official flashlight with a plastic tube light-saber one Christmas. Ever jump onto your bicycle as you hummed the Batman theme zooming around the streets of your neighborhood. In high school fencing we all pretended to be Zorro, Robin Hood and John Carter or Conan in afternoon duels. Imagination was the key element in those bygone days of summer childhood adventure. Playing with your friends or cousins fighting the good fight against villainy and boredom during those hot summer days... I remember. Me and another friend used to pretend we were bionic men, we would go out in the woods and make the bionic noises as we karate chopped limbs/tree branches! Yeah, imagination was indeed KEY!
