Got this semi-grail today. Great pick up. Book's getting a bit hard to find these days.

Nothing for me this week, which is good since I have a comic show this weekend.

I'd figure there would be a few Dave Stevens covers so I'm going with his successor, Adam Hughes Fairest #1 (2012)

I'm trying not to buy so much stuff these days but this caught my eye and had to get it Ward's work in Cracked always bothered me. I loved the rendering and shading, but the proportions or something really creeped me out. Then, when I was in high school and was trading Mini comics in the mail, some guy sent me his Bill Ward underground hardcore porn comic. That REALLY creeped me out for some reason, and now I can hardly stand to look at the stuff from Cracked or elsewhere. I agree. The late smut era of Ward's work, along with his Cracked stuff was terrible. I know he was just accepting gigs to pay the bills but the artwork was majorly on the decline. It always made me sad that a genius of the 50s/60s Humorama stuff and pin-ups couldn't get something steady like DeCarlo or transition into advertising and comics.
