1. Get more involved with this great forum. We'd be very happy to see you do so Give it until Vol. 2 to impress you. The first volume is slow moving and tedious at times, but the continuity proves very important down the road. Cerebus is my favorite comic run of all time! I'd love to see you get involved in our Long Halloween event next October. You've got ten months to fall in love with classic horror comics And, if you're looking to get into Gold Key heroes, might I suggest Magnus Robot Fighter? Still a super-hero in some senses, but more sci-fi oriented.

2. Stress about comic related things less. -M What do you mean ? Certain aspects of the hobby became far too much like work and obligation, and an annoyance and burden rather than enjoyment, to the point where I began to sour on comics in general because of the stress those aspects brought into my life, hence my stepping away for a time to get some time, space, and perspective. I am still mostly stepped away, but not quite at the point where I was in 2007 where I took a 5 year hiatus from comics. Close, but not quite there. -M

1. Read more 2. Start some review threads. X-Men 2099, anyone? I would very happily participate in any 2099 threads I've decided to do 2099 from the beginning. I've only read a few of the 2099 comics but they are a lot of fun. Someone at my LCS highly recommended X-Men 2099, and then your post in the CCC got me into Ravage 2099. I ended up buying nearly an entire 2099 run at my LCS for a great price. So I am looking forward to reading and reviewing these soon.

Awesome! I was thinking of doing the same, so I'll certainly follow along when you start it up.

Awesome! I was thinking of doing the same, so I'll certainly follow along when you start it up. You know what, go for it. You have the experience and knowledge on the series, and I'd rather read reviews from someone well versed in the subject as opposed to one that is just getting into it. I will still read them, using the order as introduced by Raistlin903 over at CMRO. But I would rather hear your take on 2099 on an issue by issue basis. You have my full support, wildfire2099!

I'm a little ways away from having time, to be honest. I was picturing going with pub date order, like Scott Harris was doing with the Superman books... but one title at a time would work, too. Next day that's warm enough here in New England for me to go into the unheated attic for more than 5 minutes I'll get the pile out

I don't have many specific goals for comics this year, but I'm pretty sure I will ...
read the new issue of Love and Rockets New Stories (and probably anything else Gilbert or Jaime Hernandez come out with this year); read Warren Ellis's Moon Knight; continue reading Morrison's Multiversity and George Perez's Sirens as they come out; finish the first 12 issues of Howard Chaykin's American Flagg; catch up on The Unwritten; read Gillen's and McKelvie's The Wicked + the Divine: The Faust Act; read Brubaker's and Epting's Velvet: Before the Living End; finish Graphic Witness: Four Wordless Graphic Novels (Frans Masereel, Lynd Ward, Giacomo Patri, Laurence Hyde).
If they're collected sometime during the year there's a good chance I will read:
Morrison's Annihilation Ellis's Trees Ennis's Caliban
Apart from all that I will play it by ear, though I would like to get to at least a few of the following:
Gillen's and McKelvie's Phonogram II; Hickman's Pax Romana; Abnett's and Lanning's Hypernaturals; Nikolai Dante II; more of Hergé's Tintin; ...

In terms of reading, I've just finished my run of Justice League of America vol. 1. I'm reading some random stuff right now, including some Master of Kung Fu, but I plan to read my New Mutants run (I've got most of the first 70 issues). Then, I really need to pull together all of my Spider-Man issues - they're spread through a whole bunch of long boxes - and read all of them. I don't have any particular collecting goals at this point. That will depend upon how much money I have available to spend, but there are still lots of great Bronze Age comics I don't have.

I am going to add a unique goal based on the forums...and that is to hunt down as many of the winning covers! As of now, I have just the one Captain Marvel issue that I won with one week. May be a tough goal as there are a lot of older, scarcer comics on that list.

This is an important year for me regarding my comic collection. I had to sell so many of my favorite books in 2014 in order to survive, that I lost the enthusiasm I previously had about reading and collecting. Didn't slow down my new purchases or cheap back issue purchases, though. Only the reading part. So..... 1) Replace ASM 2-99, 101,102,122 & 129, Hulk 180-182 & 271, FF 44-51, Thor(JIM) 85, 100, 107-112, UXM 94-142 & Giant Size 1, and some others I don't remember now. 2) Catch up reading all the current titles that I've continued to buy each week despite my lack of motivation. 3) Read the shitload of cheap back issues I bought through the year to compensate for what I sold. 4) Stop adding issues to my want list until I do some of the above. 5) Spend more time on these boards with the passionate collectors as opposed to the place with a large lunatic contingent. 6) Continue to look for the positive aspects of the comics I've always loved and attempt to spread it around. 7) Put myself in a position to buy some Grail books in 2016.

I have a general goal to read an average of one physical and one digital comic a day. Pretty sure I buy at least that though, so perhaps I need to re-evaluate my life priorities.
