I enjoyed Iron Jaw. Phoenix wasn't bad either.

Is that a Neal Adams cover?

Is that a Neal Adams cover? Yes. Nice cover. The insides were by Mike Sewoksy and I think Pablo Marcos did some of it too.

I didn't really follow them at the time, though I read friends' copies of The Brute, Targitt, and Iron Jaw, all of which struck me as derivative knock-offs of better books. The only series I've encountered since is The Destructor, which is my default favorite for the Ditko/Wood art. Someday I'd like to scope all the line out.
Cei-U! I summon the very small sample pool!

Last year I picked up 3 Iron Jaw comics. Surprisingly not bad.

My favorite was Morlock 2001, followed by Demon Hunter and Grim Ghost.

I read them all as they came out. Archie Goodwin did some work for them, including which was pretty good.

The first 2 issues are by Chaykin, who quit after the second issue due to creative differences with editor Jeff Rovin. Atlas / Seaboard still published a third issue though with Daredevil-knock off costume and story by Gabe Levy with art by Jim Craig. Pretty obviously it has no connection to Chaykin's first 2 issues, hence, I'm only considering the 2 "real" issues that Chaykin did. He later tweaked the character slightly and introduced him at Marvel as Dominic Fortune, much the way Buckler tweaked Demon Hunter and introduced him at Marvel as Devil-Slayer. I like both of these characters, but if I had to pick I'd go with Demon Hunter. BTW, I was buying the 2012 Atlas relaunch and was sad that it flopped so badly. It wasn't half bad. I wish Chip Goodman would just sell the rights to someone like Dynamite, but he thinks they're worth a fortune.

Phoenix on the grounds that it is the one and only Atlas comic I've ever owned or read. Not bad.

I thought 2012 Atlas had potential...I was hoping it would have been successful.

I thought 2012 Atlas had potential...I was hoping it would have been successful. Some of those titles lasted longer than the originals. Not THAT bad!

I've never seen any of them, apart from online images, but like Cei-U I'd like to check them out some day, if only for the early-70s aesthetic and the presence of artists like Chaykin, Marcos, Buckler, and of course Ditko and Wood.
