When I was an editor at the Little Rock newspaper, a researcher who sat directly across from my desk was deathly afraid of aliens. Needless to say, I didn't let too many days go by without bringing up abduction scenarios.-

Ju-on I think is the scariest movie I've seen. Despite a few repeated viewings it still scares me. I really don't know why I own it as I've admitted finally that I'm too scared to watch it. Ju-on is incredible and one of the best J-horror films I've ever watched. Definitely in my top 10. Christopher Walken is awesome! He was great in The Dead Zone.

Fear of Christopher Walken? No fear of aliens. Especially grays. But the whole abduction scenario is frightening for me. So you've never seen The X-Files?

Top 10 Favorite Film Noir Femme Fatales
1. Jane Greer (probably the quintessential Femme Fatale) 2. Gene Tierney (my undying love for this women still continues to this day) 3. Audrey Totter (her role in The Set-Up and The Postman Always Rings Twice shows her off the best) 4. Ava Gardner (The Killers..nuff said) 5. Rita Hayworth (Gilda...my god, that dress!) 6. Claire Trevor (love her in Murder, My Sweet and Key Largo) 7. Linda Darnell (another sweet face and should've been huge) 8. Lauren Bacall (Just put your lips together and blow..... priceless) 9. Jean Peters (A Samuel Fuller regaular; her role in Pickup on South Street is great) 10. Lana Turner (The Postman Always Rings Twice...mmm, lovely)
I'm missing plenty of others like Barbara Stanwyk, Gloria Grahame, Elizabeth Scott, Aiadia Valli, Marilyn Monroe, Coleen Gray...lots.

No fear of aliens. Especially grays. But the whole abduction scenario is frightening for me. So you've never seen The X-Files? Oh yeah I've seen the whole series and own the first five seasons. Actually the alien conspiracy episodes are the ones I enjoy the most. Not that they aren't frightening too, but I guess it's a face your fear kinda thing. Plus Gillian Anderson makes it all better.

Someone after my own heart, although I only watched through the end of season 6. Agree that the "mythology" episodes are better, by and large, than the monster-of-the-week eps. And Gillian Anderson was very high on my list of celebrity crushes in the mid-90s.

Veronica Lake
You know, its probably easier to list 1940s-50s movie starlets who were not great film noir actresses -no cheating with too old or too young
Not good femme fatales:Doris Day,Judy Holiday,Audrey Hepburn
