(. . .a name formed from the red liquid that flows through our bodies and something I spent most of last Sunday doing at the bar.) So, was Bordeaux Table-Dancer an ongoing or limited series? Mini, but it should have really been an ongoing. Damn '90s speculator bubble!

Homage, rip-off; pot-ay-to, pot-ah-to Oh, that's definitely a swipe, not an homage. Thieves! The Wings issue is the original if anyone is wondering. I had a pretty good swipe I was considering. It's a really well known cover that I don't think most people realize is a swipe of a much less known comic. I wasn't going to participate because I couldn't think of any classic covers that hadn't been done repeatedly. But then I thought of a cover that, as far as I know, has only had one homage. There are quite a few Silver Age covers that I think would be right up your alley that are actually homages to lesser known Golden Age covers. I almost went with a couple of them. I'm really curious to see if any of them get posted. I personally find the older homages to be more interesting, in that the fan base at the time was much less familiar with what was being referenced. Nowadays, homages all seem to be the same famous covers, and so they are very obvious. You would have had to be a real hardcore fan to pick up on them back in the day.

Here's a slightly more obscure one (and Adams signed it 'After Kirby' so it is a deliberate homage):

Donald Duck Adventures #11 (1991): MAD #1 (1952): I'd never seen that Donald Duck cover. That's outstanding.

comics.org doesn't allow remote posting (you still see it because it's in your cache, but we only see "see the original comic at comics.org". You'll have to find another source or downloaded it and host it yourself.

We Will Never Forget I'm gonna need a hint, tho. ALMOST NEVER! My Bad, I did not read the entire post, just saw Paying Homage and ran with it, did not see the part about Paying Homage to another cover. Delete the post and I will come up with the proper cover(s).
