Didn't realize that the new Godzilla movie is being directed by Michael Dougherty.
Trick r Treat and Krampus were both pleasant surprises. If nothing else, it should be a ton of fun. Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah are all going to be in it.

TOHO released the trailer for the first ever Godzilla anime film titled Godzilla: Monster Planet. However he only makes a brief appearance in this teaser. I think this may be the first time Godzilla has been animated since the 1998 cartoons series.

Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975) I rewatched this on cable this weekend and I think this was a pretty fun sequel. The final fight scene isn't as gory as Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla but there are scenes from it at the beginning of this as well as clips from a couple other movies like Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster. I think this was the last film in the Godzilla series that Ishirô Honda directed.

Love me some Godzilla. Started with Hannah Barbara reruns and then some of the showa era films. Loved getting those at Blockbuster as a kid, but I can't watch most of them today because of how badly they hold up. The original remains the best movie in the franchise and sill looks great today, but the rest of the films look so cheap they look more like basement knockoffs than multimillion dollar productions. The hesei era films were much better in that regard, and the design used in Godzilla vs. Biolante is my favorite Godzilla design. Loved the 1998 Godzilla when it came out, even had a Godzilla themed slumber birthday party at the time. But now I can see how bad it is.

Oh yes, sooooo looking forward to this one. Good trailer. One King to Rule them All, damn straight! Love the line in an earlier trailer: You want to make Godzilla our pet? And the doctor says No, we will be his! Time to join up with the church of Godzilla and kick some Kaiju (Titan) monster butt!!! Already have my 'Zilla shirt chosen to wear and my discount soda cup ready and my bag of Red Vine licorice to munch on while enjoying the mayhem and destruction.
