The subject heading says it all. What comics (classic or otherwise) turn on the waterworks. One of them for me is The Spectre #45 I know the cover doesn't show a lot but its the Spectre facing some homophobes. Since Corrigan's an old school man's man, his bigotry towards homosexuals bubbles up. The Spectre asks a question...... That little panel makes me cry every time I read it. That someone thinks that way, even thought this was 1996 when it was written, it still hurts me in 2014. Also at the time, I was going through that time where 20somethings have to figuring out their lot in life. As a bisexual man, it hurts me so.

I remember reading that issue of the Spectre per MRP's suggestion. Powerful stuff.

The scene at the end of Avengers #277 where Captain America breaks down on discovering Zemo destroyed the contents of his army footlocker, including the only existing photo of Cap's mother, gets me every damn time. Honorable mentions to "The Kid Who Collected Spider-Man" and "The Nearness of You."
Cei-U! I summon the (sniff) hanky!

For me it's Fax from Sarajevo, it's just so raw and real.

None have made me cry but I had a bad feeling at one point reading Maus, because it was a first hand survivors account.

Honorable mentions to "The Kid Who Collected Spider-Man" and "The Memory of You." Cei-U! I summon the (sniff) hanky! Good call with Avengers 277. Definitely a sad moment. Oh, "The Nearness of You"...another one. For me it's Fax from Sarajevo, it's just so raw and real. Read Grendel: Devil & Deaths. You'll get the same thing. Maco & Buivoic's Grendel tale is a mistyeyed read as well.

The Death of Speedy Ortiz
My god. It's the build up Jaime creates with Speedy, accepting his fate and that everything he's done to the people he's love will be over. It's gut retching and just a beautiful page layout....

I only ever literally cried over Star-Spangled War Stories #148, where Kubert and Kanigher conspired to dispatch Enemy Ace's dog, Schatzi. It's a deftly devastating bit of story-telling:

Oh, yeah, that's a tearjerker, alright. Cei-U! I summon the poor puppy!

The first one that I always think about is Nick Abadzis' Laika. It's such a powerful story masterfully told. I can't recommend it highly enough. It probably helps that I'm a dog lover, but any story about the death of a dog is one of those things that a man gets a crying pass for.

What was Michael's answer? BTW, coming from a severe arachnophobe that Spectre cover is AMAZING.
No comic has ever made me cry but Maus tore me up.

Yeah, that one got me, too. Also: Peter Parker saying "I saved you, I saved you" to Gwen after her death. And Bizarro's death in "Whatever happened to the man of tomorrow?"

I don't know if I cried but it was sad anyway. Dogs are loyal and only want to give love. From Whatever Happened to The Man of Tomorrow ?
