The late Al Rio was one of the best good girl artists in the last 25 years or so.

Actually, I'd forgotten he was dead. I mean, I knew, but it had slipped my mind.

He died kind of young ( age 50). He also had a Gen13 run after Campbell left the title. Edit: He died from Suicide.

Catwoman 26 Writer -Ed Brubaker Artist- Paul Gulacy/ Jimmy Palmotti Dc Comics 2004 I really like that art a lot. I took a chance on that Catwoman series at the time because I'm such a fan of Gulacy's artwork. I only stuck with it as long as Gulacy was there, though IIRC the writing wasn't bad either. Brubaker's pretty good at the hardboiled stuff. But yeah, Gulacy's style was perfect for book and the character, or this version at least - I don't know Catwoman's history well enough to know whether it was in keeping with the standard portrayal, if there is one.

Man, Al Rio draws some nice looking women. Alfredo Alcala could too when doing pencils. Him and many others of the Philipino/Hispanic men that DC hired back in the 70's (?) I liked when reading the HoM and HoS Showcase volumes I bought 6-7 years ago. Though Nestor Redondo was my favorite. But Alcala or Alex Nino were no slouches with the ladies either. Maybe it's just the difference in American men drawing comics as oppose to others.
