Does Ellis ever write more than a handful of issues / one arc these days? i was tempted to try moonknight but then i thought oh ellis will be off this just as i'm getting into it. He did Stormwatch for 2 years, and was by his own admission bored to death with it in the end. When he talks of his initial days at Marvel-- i.e., the days of Doom 2099, Excalibur, Hellstorm-- he bemoans what a sausage factory it was (such as faxing a Doom 2099 script in literally mere hours before it was supposed to go to press). Maybe this affected his attitude towards longer runs?

This whole Ellis thing is exactly why I wait on lots of new stuff. Things change down the road, it might get cancelled, etc.
Some titles, like Infinity Man and the Forever People, I'll be getting soon, cause I want to support it, but I'm waiting for the obligatory price drop on Comixology.

Haven't had a chance to stop in and pick up last Wednesday's books yet, but my shopping list for the week of June 18th looks like this...
Dynamite Magnus #4 Red Sonja #10 Red Sonja Sanctuary one-shot
Image Fatale #23
Marvel Daredevil #4 Elektra #3 Original Sin #4 Silver Surfer #4
it's alittle bigger week than I want, so I may have to consider trimming some of those...

You don't like Elektra Scott? That book blew me away - i know it's a deal with the devil with marvel but that book is something else - the art team and panel layouts are incredibly inventive and the story is very very classy. I dont know if you read digitally but i'll send you my code for issue 1 if you do (digital is brutal for me)

I don't like Elektra as a character, so I haven't read it. I was just joking about Marvel, though. I haven't read any of those titles.

I'm totally ambivalent to her too but del mondo and the colourist are on fire in this book. def. worth a flick through in the shop just to check out the technique.

Done! I understand the joke, but Waid's Daredevil is one of my favorite books on the market right now, and has been since I started picking it up over 2 years ago (I started at issue 10 of his run and filled in the rest). The Elektra book is stunning visually and Blackmon is the long time writing partner of J.H.Williams, and has done a great job on the book so far. Surfer has been a visual treat by Allred so far but not sure if am in for the long haul and it could be chopped. I keep waiting for Doc Strange to do something meaningful in Original Sin and it hasn't happened so not sure if I will finish it out or not. I know I am not getting the next event (Axis or whatever it's called) as the promos and hype have struck me as absolutely unappealing. The concept of Original Sin intrigued me, the look that Doc would have a key role intrigued me and I like JAson Aaron's work well enough I gave it a shot...not sold yet. Magnus, however is the book most likely to be dropped among those as the Dyna-Key books have been mildly disappointing for the cover price. Dynamite is going crazy with the Sonja minis and one shots again, the main book is good with Simone on it, but the last time they launched Sonja they killed my interest with too much ancillary stuff and not that its "hot" again they are doing the same thing. They just announced another Sonja mini today written by Frank (ugh) Tieri. So the main book may stay but the ancillary stuff will likely get trimmed. The Legends of Red Sonja mini was really good and featured Frank Thorne covers, the rest so far, not so much. -M

September DC Soliciations are out and here is my record setting small list
The Mulitversity: The Society of Super Heroes Superman Unchained #9 Sensation Comics #2 Batman '66 #15 Batman '66 Meets the Green Hornet #4 Adventures of Superman #17 Tiny Titans: Return to the Treehouse #4 Astro City #15
Since the rest of the companies are unlikely to take up the slack, this will be the first time I've bought less than fifteen new comics in a month since 1991.
