For those of us who keep up with new comics as well, what are you reading, what are you excited about, and what's on your pull list?

Nice! I'm sadly going to miss FCD due to work (7-5!), but I've got some of the books coming from DCBS.. mostly I stuck with indies, since the Marvel/DC stuff will end up in quarter bins I'd strongly recommend anyone who likes westerns to check out Magic Wind , it's an Italian comic that ran for like 20 years that's just started to get translated. Yes, an American Western written by an Italian guy is weird, but it's got great art and is a fantastic period piece... I'm hoping sales warrant the reprints continuing (3 trades so far) Read the 5 ghosts trade last night.. pretty good. Awesome covers, nice interior art, fun story. I little splashy, though, the 5 issue trade took me about 40 minutes to read, if I'd paid more for it, I would have been annoyed. I'll definitely at least consider the next one though. 7th Sword was great, an excellent 1st issue... A samurai type guy in a sci-fi setting? More, please. Not liking Sovereign.. I won't be continuing that, it's really a novel, and they're trying to do too much, doesn't work in a comic. Star Slammers is just what one would expect great art over a decent story, well worth a buy. I enjoyed my Marvel pull for this month, as well... The 'X-Men Vs. SHIELD' story is moving nicely (skipping the trial of Jean Grey story was a good plan). Thor continues to be awesome. Ms. Marvel should be on everyone's pull list.. great book that has the feel of a critical darling that isn't going to last. Especially good for those of us that have 13 year old daughters

My two favorite things being published now are both by Robert Kirkman . The Walking Dead and Invincible. Honestly, these two books are the reason I still have a comics subscription... If you guys are fans of classic Spidey, Invincible is kind of a modern take. I've heard it described as Spider Man with Superman's powers. The author is really good at character interactions, and it has some of the best art in the industry. One of the best things about it is that Kirkman is a fan of classics comics, but he doesn't just retreat. He revisits many of the classic scenarios and tropes, but he always puts his own unique, fresh spin on it. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. I'm sure everyone knows about The Walking Dead. Best thing I can say about it is it's not a "zombie book." It's a psychological study on what prolonged, extreme, indefinite stress will do to a group of people over time. It's been fascinating to read, and I know it's cliche, but..."it's so much bette than the show."

Oh man, I probably get too much new stuff, but since I help the owner of my lcs do the Diamond order each month and hang out there one day a week to do the sorting/grading/pricing of the bulk of his backstock I get a lot of store credit that covers the bulk of my pull list, so its not an out of pocket expense to get most of my new stuff.
I am following the following series in trade...
Saga Thief of Thieves Five Ghosts Hawkeye
I started with Saga in floppies, sold off the first prints of 1-6 for way too much and switched to trade after the third arc. ToT and Five Ghosts I have always tradewaited for. Hawkeye I just decided to switch to trades on when I sold off my copies of 1-9 again for far too much money for a modern copy.
My individual issue pull list looks like this....
BOOM! Day Men
Dark Horse Star Wars The Star Wars Conan the Avenger Veil (mini by Greg Rucka) Dream Thief (upcoming mini)
DC/Vertigo Astro City Sandman Overture (mini)
Dynamite Red Sonja Flash Gordon The Gold Key revivals (Turok, Magnus, Solar, Dr. Spektor) (not sure how long I will stay on these) The Shadow Moscow over Midnight (Chaykin returns to do a Shadow mini) The Shadow over Innsmouth (one shot Shadow in Lovecraftian story) Doc Savage (on the chopping block)
IDW Wild Blue Yonder (mini) Half Past Danger (mini, concluded, hoping for a sequel) any Rocketeer minis they do Simonson's upcoming Ragnorak mini Frankenstein Alive, Alive (Wrightson all the way baby)
Image Velvet Fatale Lazarus Black Science (on the chopping block) Saviors (on the chopping block) Trees (upcoming Warren Ellis) Supreme The Blue Rose (upcoming Warren Ellis project)
Marvel Daredevil Moon Knight Iron Fist the Living Weapon Silver Surfer Elektra Deadly Hands of Kung Fu (upcoming Shang Chi mini) Disney Kingdoms: Seekers of the Weird (mini) George A. Romero's Empire of the Dead Act One (mini)-not sure I am on for Act Two since Maleev's art was big draw for Act One) Savage Hulk (upcoming arcs by Alan Davis and Jim Starlin, after that...?) New Avengers Annual (Doc Strange story by Barbiere) Thanos Annual (Starlin) Infinity Revelations (Starlin OGN) and I'll check out a little of Original Sin since Doc Strange has a prominent role, but not sure I will stay on it
I've checked out the new FF and Invaders by Robinson and the new Hulk by Waid as well, I like them ok but not enough to add to pull. I may get trades of them down the road or bargain hunt issues down the road.
Oni Letter 44 Mysterious Strangers (completed mini, hoping for sequel) Helheim (and sequel minis) and eventually want to get around to reading Sixth Gun in trade
so there it is, my name is MRP and I still like new comics...well some of them anyways. For new stuff its mostly a mix of following a few creators I like (Warren Ellis, Greg Rucka, Ed Brubaker, Mark Waid, Kurt Busiek, Berni Wrightson, Neil Gaiman, Jim Starlin) a few characters I like (Doc Strange, Flash Gordon, Conan, Sonja, Star Wars, Shadow, etc.) and a few concepts that catch my eye in indy books.

If you asked 3 years ago,I'd have said I was reading about 50 titles a month and probably buying another few dozen to read when time allowed. Nowadays? Marvel-Thor,Hawkeye,Daredevil and ol'Hawkeye is in danger of getting dropped DC-All Star Western and Earth-2 and each month I'm this close to stopping both,Swamp Thing Image-Saga,Fatale,Velvet Others-Rachel Rising

My list is about the same size, MRP, though a bit more Marvel than you.
I get alot of Image in trades, since they kindly pause the series and put them at out at a good price. I think Great Pacific is the only Image one that get monthly (and I might switch back... too decompressed, though really good in trades). Saga would be PAINFUL in monthlies, I'd think.
Pretty telling that neither of you read any NEw 52. I have a couple titles (Batgirl, Nightwing, and the 'Beyond' books).. and I'm giving Green Lantern a shot with the current story (fighting the Durlans sounded intriguing). I get some trades, too when they're cheap, but nothing I have to have.

These days I'm not picking up as much. If this was 1996, I would've said pretty much everything DC was putting out. I down to about less than 10 monthly comics
1. Love & Rockets New Stories (when it comes out once a year) 2. Harley Quinn 3. All Star Western 4. Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris 5. Stray Bullets 6. Black Widow 7. Silver Surfer
I'll pick up anything Los Bros Hernandez do, be it a new mini or cover. There's the odd Aspen Company mini-series that I'll try. I read the Marvel Now at the shop to keep up with our monthly Comix Club Meetings we have. I'll try any new series that has an interesting premise; I liked Velvet and Revival.

I dropped ASW when Hex came to the present and GA with Villains Month last September and haven't looked back. I tried quite a few of the titles for the first 18 months or so, but the more I read the more I felt that the reboot only kept names, costumes and powers and not the actual characters, and stories about the people behind the masks were fewer and farther between, so I was less and less interested. The last DC hero book I bought was the Batman Black and White mini which had a good number of very good stories by excellent creators. -M

That said, I've read some great sci/fi comics lately, notably Mind Mgmt and Nowhere Men.

I'll be in line for FCBD on Saturday. My LCS lets you grab as many comics as you want, if you bring a bag of food to donate to the local food bank. So I'll be loading up on canned goods, so I can load up on comics.
I'm still getting new comics, but it's down from what it used to be also.
Off the top of my head:
DC Aquaman Earth 2 Worlds' Finest Justice League & Dark (both on the bubble)
Marvel All-New Invaders Captain Marvel
IDW Thunder Agents

DC/VertigoAstro City Sandman Overture (mini) -M Wow, your DC pull list is identical to mine! What are the odds, with more than 52 titles? I've been using the money I've been saving on DC books to look into some indies. Really enjoying Quantum & Woody and Archer & Armstrong from Valiant, as well as A Voice in the Dark (which Larime Taylor draws with his mouth!) from Image and King's Watch and Green Hornet from Dynamite.

How is Overture so far? I decided to trade wait... the single issue price being $4.99 really pissed me off (same with Miracleman) so I decided to wait to show my displeasure. Plus, I want to re-read Sandman and Lucifer first, which is a ways off yet for me

I am buying single issues of Overture, but not reading them until at least 4 or so are out.

2013 was a pretty good year for comics, it gave me
<----- This little fella here.
Cui suis-je? about a little chick that tries to find out who or what he is. Philosophy 101 in funny comics form.
Also Trondheim and Bonhomme created Texas Cowboys, a great western comic with enough twists and clever bits to be new and fun.
Finally, Silas Corey proved to me that you can judge a book by its cover, because it lived up to its beautiful covers for me.
American comics: DC: After the end of Dial H and the rather disappointing revival attempts at Wildstorm properties, I'm down to just Azarello Wonder Woman, for a large part for the excellent art on it.
Image: So much Image titles seem so good these days. I'm definitely in for Saga, Fatale, Rat Queens and anything by Joe Casey as well as trying out various other titles at this point. Somehow never was interested in the Walking Dead though.
Marvel: Marvel has a couple of new titles with old characters that took my interest (Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Silver Surfer, Ghost Rider) as well as finally reprinting Miracleman, which was impossible to get for ages over here (price point didn't matter that much to me, as you get quite a bit of comic in there. We had some of the old Miracleman reprints by Don Lawrence for instance in the first issue apart from the Alan Moore stuff). Further I'm on trades for Hawkeye (loving the first 2, but the next one will take some time I guess), Superior Foes of Spider-Man was recommended and I enjoyed a lot as well. Oh and I bought Hickman's New Avengers first trade (not read it yet) and it had a nice misprint on the backcover where they used part of the description of Young Avengers in the text... so according to the back cover, Reed, Tony and Tchalla will be kissing out a lot in this comic.
