And to further expand the pool of eligible covers, let's include anything else that's equivalent to the Marvel Treasury Editions in size and format. I know DC did quite a few, not sure of anything else. I'd prefer to exclude things like the tabloid-size Kirby Collector from TwoMorrows, as they seem to be a different kind of animal, apart from the similar size. I read the above and assumed it would apply to other larger than normal comics. I know its not really a treasury size per say, but I thought it would qualify since it is bigger and an oversize classic cover in that it stretches to the back. Feel free not to vote for me, I won't change it now. I blame berk...and rules....darn rules

I lied...I posted my other pic, which I should have went with. I just got caught up in the aspect of a wrap around cover. Sorry

Just showing the back cover of Volume 1 to keep in line with the tabloid size, but, really any of the covers on the two volumes would be worthy. Just noticed the similarity between Steranko's Superman and Darwyn Cooke's.

Sojourn #1 - White Cliffs Publishing - 1977
Features (all black and white) include: --"Tor" by Joe Kubert --a sci-fi feature, "The Smooth" by Mary Skrenes and Dick Giordano --"T.C.Mars, A Very Private Eye" by Sergio Aragones --a private eye strip, "E.V.Race" by Doug Wildey --"Eagle" by John Severin --"Montage", a column about movies by Bill Kelley, featuring an interview with Bruce Dern! --"Kronos" by Lee Elias
...plus an inside color cover poster by Steve Bissette! Wow, Kubert, Severin, Wildey, Elias, Aragones, Giordano, and Bissette--quite a line-up!
"It was the 70s" is the only reason I can come up with, though, for the incomprehensible format. Not only is the book bigger by the standard treasury comic, but it's not stapled, making it almost impossible to hold together and read without pages spilling all over the place.
Also, the stories are printed in order of the binding, so instead of having one centerfold in the middle of the book, you have a series of separate four page sheets, and to make matters even worse, the stories don't follow the order listed on the Table of Contents, which comes on page eight! Huh?
That said, the material is top-notch, and you can't fault publishers Joe Kubert and Ivan Snyder for wanting to come up with something unique. I love all the different genres represented, and the talent behind them can't be matched.

That's right, marvel decided to give their fans butt shots of their popular Characters.

Just noticed the similarity between Steranko's Superman and Darwyn Cooke's. Great cover Prince Hal, and definitely in keeping with the idea of tabloid or Treasury-size, but isn't this a book about comics rather than a comic itself? I had assumed that all these cover contests were meant to apply to the latter, but I'll go along with the consensus - what does everyone else think?

Swords Of Heaven:I believe thats just a graphic novel cover, not a treasury or oversized edition I haven't ever seen a copy, but if it's like the Delaney/Chaykin Empire, which I do have, it's bigger than a regular graphic novel, but smaller than treasury-size. I had meant to restrict entries to the latter, but maybe my first post was too vague.
