A Flash commission by Carmine Infantino
A Joker commission by Jerry Robinson, but it got stolen a couple of years ago from my sketchbook. Broken hearted and have now taken all pieces out and individually sleeved each in a portfolio
The National Cartoonists Society Presents The Portfolio of Fine Comic Art (1978) limited to 1,500 and autographed by Will Eisner, Jerry Robinson, Barry Windsor-Smith, Wally Wood, Milton Caniff, Harvey Kurtzman, James Steranko, Jeffrey Jones, Al Williamson, Jack Kirby, Burne Hogarth, Hal Foster, John Severin, Russell Myers, and Johnny Hart. Since Hal Foster had passed, his widow marked his plate in red wax with his personal seal.
A Michael Golden commission of Baron Karza
A Simone Bianchi commission of Thor, whom I had to buy a Bronze Age Thor to donate for reference by Buscema

1. Batman #9. It was the first substantial key issue I ever bought, and I adore the cover. 2. Batman #8. Older by two months, but #9 will still always hold a special place for me. 3. Batman #10. Yeah. I have all three. Got them at various times before prices jacked up about five years ago. 4. Showcase #22. It was always my dream to own this one from the time I first started collecting comics. 5. World's Finest Comics #2 I keep images of all my Pride and Joy issues here: s292.photobucket.com/user/shaxper20/library/Comics/trophy%20room?page=1 Recently added to the collection (but not yet photographed) are Avengers #8 (1st Kang) and Fantastic Four #13 (1st Watcher)

These are the ones I'd rescue in the event of fire:
1. The GITcorp Fantastic Four DVD. In constant use. 2. The Count of Monte Cristo (1980 British reprint of the Marvel adaptation) - to my mind the perfect comic (in the sense of a model for other comics to follow IMO) 3. UK Marvel Annual 1973: the perfect anthology of classics. 4. Moby Duck: a tiny 8 page pull out Badtime Bedtime book from Monster Fun comic. 5. A toss up between Monster Fun annual 1978 and Mighty World of Marvel 39, for nostalgia purposes.

4. Showcase #22. It was always my dream to own this one from the time I first started collecting comics. Did you get it for a fair price? My sole collecting goal is to one day own a copy of that comic.. Yup. I bought all of my key issues between 2003 and 2009, when back issues were in a lot more of a slump than they are now. I believe the Showcase #22 was $250. Of course, you can see in the image, the condition is a Fine at best. Wow, an Albedo #2! Yep! Got that one before the price spiked too. $150. Of course, I don't spend that kind of money on comics these days. I grabbed up all the key issues I'd ever really wanted at the prices I was willing to pay and then went back to buying comics solely for the intent of reading them. That being said, there were a few key issues I never did manage to grab at the prices I was willing to pay: Batman #1-7 (I came REALLY close to grabbing a G- #1 for a price I was willing to pay, but it didn't happen, and now it never will). Batman #47 Star Spangled Comics #65 Fantastic Four #1 Amazing Fantasy #15 X-Men #1 More Fun Comics #54 Everything else I wanted, I got. Not bad, really, and now those books are selling for three times the amounts I paid or higher.

If you're talking about anything in the world, my daughters are my Top 2 pride and joys, but if you're just talking comics/collectibles, I would go with:
T5. Complete run of Tomb of Dracula (particularly since I only paid #5 for issue #10 years before anyone gave a crap about Blade) and runs of at least 250 consecutive issues each of Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, and Thor (Avengers, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, and Thor are all well over 400 issues in length) 4. Run of first X-Men/Uncanny X-Men series in floppy form from #94 to the end 3. X-Men #10 (first Silver Age Ka-Zar) - oldest comic I own 2. Complete run of Marvel Captain America, which I finally completed last year with my purchase of #117. 1. X-Men #13 - I told this story at least once at CBR, but I'd bought this comic when I was in high school for $25 but sold it in college to help my girlfriend at the time pay her tuition. When I started dating the woman who I eventually married, I told her the story, and for my wedding gift, she hunted down a copy of this issue in high grade because she felt like I should have it to replace the copy that I got sold. I would get rid of every other book (over 8,500 books) in my collection before I would ever consider getting rid of this one.

I think the skyrocketing cost of keys is because of an influx of collectors who don't read comics and only buy keys. The cost of Albedo #2 doesn't seem to make sense when you look at the print runs of any other Usagi comic. Where are all the fans? Sad to think most copies of Albedo #2 are probably owned by people who have never even read a Usagi story.

1. Giant Size X-Men #1 2. X-Men #5 (original series) - oldest X-Men comic I own. 3. Amazing Spider-Man #101 - awesome cover 4. Uncanny X-Men #98 - bought and got signed by Dave Cockrum at the same convention
Nothing jumps out at me for that final spot.

Sad to think most copies of Albedo #2 are probably owned by people who have never even read a Usagi story. I'm not sure I follow. The print run for Albedo #2 was minuscule, and most of those copies were handed out free to reluctant convention attendees who didn't know what it was, didn't care, and likely threw it out, not realizing they'd made a serious mistake until years later. It is a VERY rare comic. There's a whole page devoted to it at the official Usagi Yojimbo Dojo (though the content is out of date in some instances): usagiyojimbo.com/casl/comics/albedo-vol1-nr2/albedo2.html
