I thought it would be neat to see what everyone's "pride and joy" comics/magazines are in their collections. 5 should be an easy enough number. They don't have to be the most rare or valuable...just the top 5 you own that you love the most. Here are mine:
1. Amazing Spider-Man #8 - oldest Spider-Man issue I own, was thrilled to get it last year 2. Amazing Spider-Man #97- online purchase that ended up having Gil Kane's sig inside on the bottom (was described in the auction as having writing on the inside). Very happy because I love his artwork and, since he is no longer with us, it is honour to have something he signed. 3. Batman #251- a steal of a deal by my favourite artist, Neal Adams 4. My Combat Kelly Marvel run- love the series, one of my all time favourite finales to a series is the last issue of this run 5. Swamp Thing #11- just one of my all-time favourite covers.....ever!

1. My complete runs (except for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer) of the '60s DC annuals & their direct descendants, the 80-Page Giants, because I loved the latter (the former were a bit before my time) as a kid & still do.
2. Sgt. Fury #1, a gift from the lovely, talented & jaw-droppingly generous Prince Hal.
3. Sgt. Fury Annual #4, because it's the best single issue of any comic ever, as is well known.
4. My complete run of Gold Key's Ripley's Believe It or Not, because it was the first comic series I ever bought regularly, starting with #5 toward the end of 2nd grade.
5. My Not Brand Ecch complete run, because it's one of my favorite series ever.

Wow, this is tough one. But I can't depart with these P&Js:
1. The complete run of Richie Rich: When I mean complete run, I mean complete run of Richie Rich. All of it; Jackie Jokers, Bank Books,Diamonds etc,...every single issue. 2. Tales to Astonish #36 (first Ant-Man in costume), signed by Jack Kirby 3. Tales to Astonish #44 (first Wasp- my favorite Marvel character) 4. The complete run of Ostrander/Mandrake's Spectre run- To me, its the best modern run of comics. I like it more than Sandman 5. The complete run of Tomb of Dracula and all the Marvel Vampire related Magazines- I have all 70 issues signed by Gene Colan himself, Marv signed 7 to 70 and various magazines.

If I were to put the artwork I own on this as well, it would be my Alex Ross page.

1. Every one of the annual JLA/JSA crossovers from the pre-Crisis era, as well all the Flash/Flash, Green Lantern/Green Lantern and Atom/Atom team-ups. 2. Four Color #126, Christmas with Mother Goose by the one and only Walt Kelly. 3. My clothbound copy of Maurice Horne's Encyclopedia of Comics (first printing). 4. The All-Star Companion, Vols. 2-4, because my name is on the title page of all three!!! 5. And of course, Superman #252, the single best comic ever published.
Cei-U! I summon the creme de la creme!

15-20+ years at least. I got out before prices went nuts. I never paid more than $150 put of pocket for any artwork (though have paid more using money I got from selling something).

Yeah, I bought my Alex Ross page (and all of my pages about 20 years ago) for $250. I wish I bought something from Kirby back in the 90s.

My five are not all comics or strictly comic-related, but tangentially related at least...
1. The September 1952 issue of Space Science Fiction with the first appearance of Robert Howard's The God in the Bowl, the only Howard Conan story I have in its original pulp appearance
2. a June 1914 first printing of the Tarzan of the Apes hardcover by Edgar Rice Burroughs published by A.C. McClurg (my father-in-law bought it in a lot of old books at a junk auction before Amy and I were married and gave it to me/us when I visited her for the holidays), it's kind of beat to hell, but its a first edition...
3. Conan the Barbarian #1 from Marvel comics
4. My small collection of first appearance in pulp Fritz Leiber stories (Fantastic Stories of Imagination from May 1961 containing Scylla's Daughter by Leiber and Garden of Fear by REH, Fantastic Stores Sept. 1965 with Stardock a Mouser story by Leiber, Fantastic Stories Aug 1968 with The Two Best Thieves in Lankhmar, and Fantastic Stories April 1970 with the Snow Women by Leiber)
5. My D&D autographed memorabilia, a First Edition AD&D Player's Handbook signed by Gary Gygax, a First Fantasy Campaign book singed by Dave Arneson, my Basic and Expert set rulebooks signed by Erol Otus, and my Players Guide to the Wilderlands signed by Bob Bledsaw, founder of Judges Guild. Those four were among the innovators of fantasy RPG and four who laid cornerstones of my imagination.

Damn, that's some amazing stuff... What I have pales in comparison by a wide margin.
1. Iron Man #1, which remains my only purchase of a 'wall' book at a comic shop 2. Spiderman 2099 #1, signed by PAD at a shop signing at That's Entertainment in Worcester,MA 3. 1977 Topps Baseball complete set, which I bought from scratch, one card at a time, at baseball card shows I used to semi-frequent with my dad as a kid. 4. Complete run of Ravage 2099, the first comic I really cared about enough to make sure I found it every month. 5. Kingdom Come, because even though he's super overexposed now, I still think Alex Ross is amazing.

Not sure what my Top 5 choices will be, but one would definitely be this:- This was a present from my mom-in-law, who's one of my sharpies over there in the USA...this book counts because it's my oldest copy of Superman from 1942...when my grandparents were still in diapers.
