Red 5 is known for Atomic Robo. I've stumbled upon one of their comics once, probably on FCBD or something, only read the one though. Yes, I looked up Red 5 yesterday and recognized Atomic Robo. Their FCBD book this year had quite a variety - a cute fairytale-esque story starring Bodie Troll, a military sci-fi adventure called Drone and a supernatural story called Creature Academy. The other four books I got were Doctor Who, the Boom! Ten Year Celebration, Dark Horse's Fight Club/The Goon/The Strain, and Hip-Hop Family Tree. I'm not much of a hip-hop fan but I got their FCBD book last year and it was really good.

Was the Doctor Who book any good?Titan's books so far have been hit or miss but I wanted it anyway but I could not find it.

Did anyone get the Attack on Titan comic? My LCS didn't have it and my daughter is really into it. Just wondering if it's worth tracking down and buying on Ebay. Or if anyone has it and might want to trade or something. Thanks.

My local store surprised me by having Matt Wagner there! Introduced wife and myself, thanked him for the decades of entertainment, and got a free sketch!

It was pretty great. As always though, I sort of stood there stammering not really having anything intelligent to say or ask. You'd think I'd have something to say to someone I've admired and read for near 30 years now, but 'wow' and 'thank you' were the highlights.

I found a copy of a kind of preview anthology for Marvel's various Secret Wars books with my other comics (Multiversity, Cave Girl, and a back issue of Corben's Horror in the Dark) last week. It was a good choice, since it let me have a look at a bunch of things I might otherwise not have seen, since I'm pretty sceptical about the whole Secret Wars thing.
As it turned out, none of them caught my eye, with the one exception of a Wolverine story that had some nice looking artwork. I won't be reading that series, since I don't like the character much, but at least a found a new (to me) artist I'll keep my eye on - name of Sorrentino, his style reminds me of Jae Lee's, from this small sample.

I like Andrea Sorrentino, he had a nice run on I, Vampire and Green Arrow in the new52 books, which were among the line's best offerings for me. He recently went to Marvel (exclusive I think) but I haven't seen any of his Marvel stuff. Overall though I find he has solid storytelling, a good sense of dynamic action and anatomy, and an overall style that appeals to me. -M

I'm almost sorry to hear he's exclusive with Marvel, to be honest, because they (and DC) aren't doing anything in particular that I want to read, at the moment. What was I, Vampire like - a straight horror/vampire series or was it more of a superhero/DCU thing but with vampires? I'd be more interested in the former than the latter.

I, Vampire started out very well storywise, pretty horror centric, but didn't sell well, so they had a cross-over with Justice LEague Dark that did nothing for me, then it turned into a vampire vs. zombie war thing with a weird take on the Van Helsing myth that did nothing for me either and lost me from the book. The Lemire/Sorrentino Green Arrow had a lot of promise and I thought could have been the best run on the book since Grell, but is got sucked into line-wide overs and September month events and lost its way for me, and I dropped it during the whole 3-D lenticular cover villain month fiasco, and it was the last new52 book on my pull at the time. The first I, Vampire trade is worth checking out, the rest maybe not so much. -M

Haven't read it yet. I'll post about it when I do, and then mail it to you if you haven't got one by then. Thanks Man! I read it last night. There were three stories, each with a different Doctor - the tenth, eleventh and twelfth. I'm not a Doctor Who watcher so I don't know how well the stories captured the flavor of the show. The stories were short, and they seemed to figure out the mystery/problem really quickly in all three. One of them seemed like it had been a longer story that had had pages removed. I liked the art in all three. PM me your address and I'll send it off!
