In honor of D-Day (yeah I know I am a day late) - what are you favorite war comics?
Sgt Rock is my all time favorite. I also liked Charlton's war comics.

I've not read many war comics and the few I have read I didn't care for, but awhile back someone (maybe Reptisaurus) said Enemy Ace was his favorite series ever and that made me really want to read it.

Charley's War. Still the finest war comic ever made, and I'm a huge fan of the genre in general.
In a just world, the late Joe Colquehon would be ranked among the finest artists the medium has ever seen.

Two-Fisted Tales is the best, with Enemy Ace a close second.

Anything with Unknown Soldier Anything with the Haunted Tank Weird War Tales
And my personal fav, Marvel's 8 issues of Combat Kelly. I forget who here sent me a parcel in the old forums exchange (they also sent Weird War Tales 8...I wanna say MRP???) but I read that issue and it was so fantastic, I had to hunt down the rest. I did and now have the set and its a great read, with a fantastic ending issue.

I liked the first one-shot issue of '68 when I read it, but it's been years ago already. I'm finding a lot of things I liked as recently as a few years ago I no longer like. I think I was just hyped to be reading comics again after such a long break and was kind of liking everything. But then again, maybe it was good?

Not the best war comic I've read, but well worth reading.
Personally, I think the best war comic of recent vintage is Jason Aaron and Cam Stewart's The Other Side.

I have bookcases filled with military history books, but I don't think I have any war comics at all.
The closest ones I can think of are Crecy, Age of Bronze and 300. Any DC War character I have is in a team up book with a superhero.
Busiek's Arrowsmith would be some sort of fantasy war book I guess. It was really good.
