Ben Carson in third. That makes me sad. Carly Fiorina came in fourth.
All she did was call Hillary Clinton a liar a bunch of times. And Carly also criticized Hillary for - o horror! - continuing to support Planned Parenthood!
It looks like JEB! will be at the kiddie table for the next debate.

Which is even sadder, of all the conservatives there he seems like the only one I'd want any where near the white house. I don't agree with him on many key points but he at least seems rational and willing to listen...which I can't say about those top three.

JEB! is pretty bad, he's a horrifying hypocrite, he bragged about defunding Planned Parenthood and then there's the Terry Schaivo case, where this allegedly small-government conservative called a special session of the state legislature to pass legislation specifically targeting this terrible family tragedy so the government could stick its nose into this family's business.
Yeah, sure, conservatives are for small government ... except when they aren't.
JEB! just cleans up a little better. And he's not as bad as Santorum, Huckabee, Graham or Cruz. But I honestly don't think he's any smarter than Rick Perry.
I wouldn't trust JEB! with a sack of sugar dressed as a baby.

This is an absolute complete and total myth. The right is just as fond of government as the left. They just want it to do different things. They love government when it's intruding into people's private lives and when it's oppressing people they don't like. See also Bobby Jindal who chats "States Rights" but consistently wants to keep municipalities from doing anything he doesn't like.

Oh yeah, I'm not championing him by any means. I hardly ever like anything he says, but I never get the impression that he's crazy when ever he opens his mouth. If one conservative were to be elected I'd want it to be him, I wouldn't vote for him but I wouldn't move to Canada if he were elected.

I exaggerated a little bit, and I'm sorry for that.
I probably would trust JEB! with a sack of sugar dressed as a baby. If I knew I wasn't going to need a sack of sugar for a while.

I also don't think Chris Christie would be a total disaster as a president. Christie's a lot better than JEB!

Being from NY, I've seen Pataki in, ha-ha-ha , action. He could be alone in a room and you wouldn't know he was there. He sleepwalked thru his last 2 terms and New York slept with him. Awakened by 9/11, he disappeared within Giuliani's shadow. The only evidence of his existence was the wind speed of his nodding head. But you know, maybe a zombie president might be a good thing. However Pataki's chances of getting the nomination is as doable as Neal Adams finishing his graphic novel

Being from Ohio, I'm frankly surprised Kasich isn't getting more press. I disagree with him vehemently on almost every issue and think he'd do tremendous damage to the country, but he doesn't tow the party line, speaks his mind, and acts according to his own ultra-conservative conscience. It's terrifying how pro-business the man is, and he's a bully, but beyond that, like any great villain, he has his own sense of ethics and integrity that he adheres to and doesn't ever seem to violate. He's doing what he believes is right and doesn't seem out to please and/or deceive anyone. If you don't mind the dismantling of unions, the privatizing of just about everything, backroom corporate deals, and a total lack of women's rights (which, really, is what you get with nearly every conservative candidate anyway), you could do worse.

As a former Jersey boy who still keeps close ties with the Garden State, I must respectfully disagree with you about Christie. The supposed charm of his shoot-from-the-hip tough talk lasts until you realize he's a lying bully whose political "philosophy" is straight from the GOP playbook: scapegoat the unions, the teachers, and the various and sundry "takers" with a lot of posturing out of Dirty Harry and bombast a la Limbaugh. He's a venal, thin-skinned, Nixonian who I have no doubt was exactly the same kind of manipulative egotist in high school. He is Trump Lite (so to speak) and would have been exposed as such had the Donald not entered the race.

Not surprised Trump won the debate. I've only seen clips, focusing on the part where he kind of threatened the moderator, but Republicans love the crazy.

Chris Christie is the little fat kid who got big enough to stop being bullied and become the bully. He would be an absolute disaster when it comes to diplomacy. Maybe not a Trump sized disaster. But perilously close.

But perilously close. Tried to resist bringing in Christie's endomorphism out of this, but it's tough not to see his body type as a symbol of his personality. The camera angle that showed him from the side drew attention to his ill-fitting suit jacket, with the flap riding at 90 degrees above his squarish rump. There's a bit of Dean Wormer in him. And didn't you love the lie, er, misSTATEment about his appointment on September 10, 2001? One he's made before and at least twice I can remember at the "debate." What a wannabe...
