But none of those people you mentioned are radicals. Sanders is arguably the furthest left of any of them and he’d be dead center to center-left in pretty much any other other industialized country. Politics in the US skews extremely right. The fact that most Americans don’t understand political philosophy or economic systems and the nuts in the Republican Party and on right-wing media call everyone left of Francisco Franco a Communist doesn’t make it so. And I think it's only fair to point out that even in the US itself not too many years ago his proposals wouldn't have been seen as radically left-wing. There is a segment going further in reaction to what the so-called ultra conservative right are doing, including the stunts and chanting, and it actually fuels those people top go to extremes that little bit more. Basically there seems to be an almost generational mass of people who will never vote for those Dems, for whom liberal is a swear word. I see things going further to extremes abandoning a center which becomes the place they drum up the apathy where a lot of people simply opt out and don't vote at all, and don't want to know when a lot of the time what they get is extremist slanted half-truths against an 'enemy' what with fanatics being the most motivated at all. The time for a new party with hopefully more than a few strings cut could yet come. Your mileage may vary of course.

Granted, it is Mississippi and all, but the fact that woman has an actual shot, and not a long one by any stretch, at winning speaks volumes about how bass-ackwards that state is. You could maybe write off her comment about being in the front row of a public hanging as an unfortunate error in judgment...if you didn't have all of the other evidence about her not even trying to conceal her racism and her pride in it. She'll probably wind up winning and being an embarrassment to the state for her entire term by voting in lockstep with the Trump Agenda.

Bad for Manafort, but he lied to protect Boss Trump, which is bad for Mueller. The article explains that between this bozo and Jerome Corsi, Mueller is losing two of his critical witnesses in his case against Das Tweetenfuhrer because they've decided to take their chances on getting sentenced and possibly getting pardoned by Teflon Don.

Also may mean that Mueller has more information than Manafort realized, which is why he knew he was lying. But I also think that the word has(d) been passed to these two amoral grifters that Don Trumpelone will pardon them.

Being as the whole thing has been a Republican show, and how few have shown any real spine for standing up to various hijackers of their Grand Old Party, I'm not expecting anything to happen to Trump. Kavanaugh may be instrumental in giving him expanded pardon powers down to the state level. Mueller, even 'allowed' to continue, is going to amount to a slap on the wrist, something Trump has received over and over through his life, never does reality ever hit him full force when he cheats, lies, destroys careers and generally makes a mess. Expect to be very disappointed. I wish I it could be different. I hope eventually gutted regulations can be restored, districts properly drawn up in a bi-partisan approach, and better conflict of interest laws will be put in place. Do we have time on our side with the economic and environmental realities sure to hit? I don't know how you get a centrist intelligent government in an age of unfettered propaganda and extremes, people keep feeding the revolutionaries and celebrity activists over qualifications and experience. Very depressed today as I think it's going to get a lot worse while others have some strange belief in light around the corner. If that light is the Mueller investigation I think you are sadly living in false hope. Most of what we can see everywhere is extremism, name-calling and a lot of don't want to know drop-outs. There are more people I know now who refuse to talk about, hear about, think about anything political than ever, and it was pretty high under Bush Jr. (which is when I was bombarded with U.S. friends wanting to know how to become Canadian). Hoping for some good news someplace but not going to count on Mississippi. Nina Simone knew. How do thing change when people are still 'celebrating' the heritage of the great 'lost cause' which was generations ago? And which Grant rightly called "one of the worst for which an Army ever fought". One hundred and fifty years and still re-learning basics. (atrb_partsz)

I have a bunch of comic book and movie stuff to post about today so I was going to lay off politics, but this video totally nails Sarah Huckabee Sanders so squarely I had to post it.

I find it extremely doubtful a prosecutor of Mueller's caliber did not have corroborating info in some other format on most anything Manafort would tell him, plus he already got what he has so far. Also may mean that Mueller has more information than Manafort realized, which is why he knew he was lying. But I also think that the word has(d) been passed to these two amoral grifters that Don Trumpelone will pardon them. This is more what I was thinking, Mueller likely knows more than these clowns think he does. Also, POTUS can't pardon state charges, and Mueller has been very careful on protecting the states' ability to prosecute if it goes that way.

Notice Trump's increasing focus on by-passing the 'biased' ninth circuit? Straight to SCOTUS and his ace in the hole. Not getting well soon; so much for Mississippi. They claim they voted for experience. Except for exceptions as Trump had none. Oh well, there's always plausible deniability... they only get info from Limbaugh, Hannity or Twitter as everything else is so obviously crazy biased by those darned lying libruls.

Kavenaugh is just one dude, though, and even the SC can't utterly fabricate blatantly unconstitutional policies from whole cloth. Kav and maybe Gorsuch might do something so nakedly partisan, but I don't think Roberts is ready to rip the constitution to pieces, wipe his ass with it, set it on fire and piss on the ashes quite yet.
