Here's a link for fans of The Daily Show who, like me, don't watch it regularly. A parade of clownsAccess to two TDS segments are provided. The first looks at the GOP presidential wannabes in general. The second takes a look at Ted Cruz. Stewart skewers him mercilessly but not undeservedly. I wish I had enough confidence in rank-and-file Republicans to be confident that Ted Cruz will not be their candidate for the presidency.

The Republican I've voted for in the primary (dating back to 1988) has NEVER been nominated for the general election. So, if you need Ted Cruz torpedoed, I got this!

I LOVE the Daily Show.. though I don't get to watch it as often as I'd like. Stewart is definitely at his best when pointing out stupid things Republicans (or, more often, Fox analysts) do. The montage from a week or so ago with all the candidates answering the question " Would you go to a Gay Wedding if it was a loved one?" was really good.

I mean Rand Paul and Rick Santorum are just wasting everyone's time. Is Jindal running yet? What's his name from New Jersey is done. So there's still Huckabee. Carson is polling surprisingly well but I seriously doubt they're giving the nomination to someone who not only had never run for office before (Of any kind, not even city council), but also isn't a heavy hitter CEO. And let's be honest, it's the Republican Party, and he's black.

WOW! Jeb Bush: W is my chief foreign policy adviser. Why do I get the feeling that Jeb doesn't want to be president? Or maybe he thinks that voters are really eager for that war with Iran.

Iran being an immediate threat that needed to be bombed RIGHT NOW or else they'll kill freedom and every freedom loving American has been the Republican campaign song since at least 2008. And they literally had a song. Bomb Bomb Iran.

I vaguely remember thinking this was funny back in the day. That embarrasses me now.

Yeah, I saw that. It was the moment when I decided I wasn't supporting any Republican at all (as I'd already verified that Huckabee had moved too far right in the last eight years for me to vote for him). So Bernie Sanders it is.

Nah, no reason to feel embarrassed about enjoying it in the past, you were an adolescent and it was edgy and catchy and you had no concept of morality. As a fully fledged adult though? Yeah, if you think that's sound foreign policy you probably should feel a little sheepish.

It's slightly off topic, but I LOVE Pope Francis. I hope he's around for a long, long time. It's the first time I've had any thought that the Catholic insitution could actually be useful and relevant to society in the future.
